Also bear in mind very basic boring things such as where the letterhead will fold, will it go in a windowed envelope (in which case the clients address and recipients address need to be swapped).
In terms of the branding, I (personnaly) dont like it, I think it looks very trendy (as one poster has already stated) and because of this will not last the test of time, maybe a visit to some books or some basic pen and paper sketching/brainstorimg would be a good idea?
Its not the worst work Ive seen, and dont take it personal, but I think it basically needs rethinking, but thats just my opinion, ignore it should you so wish!
- see yet again very good advice this is all i ask...********
- Start applying simple rules (like margin proportions) to your designs and they will look 1000& better, start with the small details!DavidNewton

Did a BTEC national Diploma at college which i passed with Distiction Distiction Distiction and im heading the same way with my HND
- where, Texas?neue75_bold
- This is a good start, and where a lot of us came from, but even more important is taking critisism well!DavidNewton
- Isn't BTEC, like, A-levels for spazzers?detritus
- recovering provigil addicts..neue75_bold
- Disclaimer - i flunked A-levels and wish I'd gone down the college route. Still. All things are relative. Spazzer.detritus
- No its a FULL TIME design course not 3 hours a week********
- One thing they dont teach you on these courses is typography or any type of design history, best thing you can do is look up the design greats in the book shop, and try to incorporate bits of each into your work here and there!DavidNewton
- they do at my college...********
- design greats such as brockmann and 8vo and try and learn from themDavidNewton
- Foundation Course where I come fromDancer
- lucky you, they didnt at mine! ;)DavidNewton
- Distinction doesn't mean anything in the real world. You're judged on your portfolio and personality and you seem to fail on both counts.phatlee

I think your stationery looks a little 'busy'. I'd say, shrink the logo a bit - especially on the cards. Consider how many times you have to repeat the address on the letterhead - right now it's a whole three times.
I kind of like the simple style, but you don't manage to keep it simple all the way through, at the moment.
----
And seriously: What's up with all the verbal abuse in this thread? Everybody needs to back off a bit. Making others look stupid in order to look cool yourself is bad karma. And you know karma will find you and take a bloody revenge!- Ah, sorry. Actually the address is shown 2 and not 3 times.
*Wipes glassesdoctor - its a dummy address********

What do you have against corporate design, Rybo?

lets face it though.. he's at first year of uni... he's not at the studio down the road.
let's not give ANOTHER designer an inferiority complex before he's even graduated..
please? just this once?
- WeLoveNoise0
by the way............
on your letterhead - the top line does flow like the lines beneath
i:e: its not correlating well with the diagonal line on the left
- MSL0
Contrary to the public consensus - its not that bad. I'm not too keen on the black and white. Maybe use a brighter solid colour?
You could get a load printed up as small stickers and then just put them on the letterhead, business card or comp slip ad-hoc. Then each bit of stationary that would get sent out (or handed out if its a b.card) would be unique?
I dunno it seems like it needs to be more fun and less blurghhh...
- It also depends on the brief the client gave you? What was it?MSL
- ********0
MSL havent seen you around before. smart man, thats what i was thinking at first but was scared to mention it incase of ridacule
- ********0
I think basically you just need to accept that your not going to be a renowned as a great designer around here. You need to post your work (which really THAT bad) honestly and humbly and take on board criticism and opinions while ignoring the bullshit..
As soon as you retaliate or defend ANYTHING then the QBN will jump on it, and don't you ever forget it
- chuparosa0
Just a thought.......why not go for a round business card with the lettering dye cut from the card? I think bright color would also add to the design. I think you need to explore more type treatments tho. I'm not feeling the lines in the logo.....I'd keep exploring the type before expanding on the other i.d. pieces.......
- MSL0
It's been done to death...
I did a load a while back (we're talking a good 4 years ago). Which used a 'scratch and sniff' coating on too. It was very cliched, but that was part of the brief from the client.
I dunno - keep plugging away and don't take all of this to heart.

please? just this once?He shouldn't have been such a prick should he, christ when I was learning my trade I shut the fuck up watched, listened and learned and at no point did I ever answer back, when I didn't like what I heard. Take today for example I worked quite hard on one motion project and I showed it to my boss I was proud of it, he said I don't like any of that, then he went on to tell me what he thinks should be different. Sure I didn't like what I was hearing but you have to suck it up like a big boy, imagine if you had the same attitude you have now when a client asks for changes?... for example 'everything you have done for me has had diagonal lines in it please stop it', would you tell them to show you something better.
- good point - shame it was last 1 on this page. lolWeLoveNoise
- Well said, Mr Chossling.detritus
