Pablo Picasso was fond of rare, expensive timepieces. But one of his favorite watches was a more modest piece from Michael Z. Berger. One of only three examples in existence, the stainless-steel manual timepiece was crafted in 1960 and follows the 12-digit name tradition which replaces the numerals on the dial with the owner's name. Picasso famously wore the watch in iconic portraits from Cecil Beaton. Bonhams auctioned off the watch this weekend where it exceeded its pre-sale estimate by nearly 20x, finally selling for a whopping $267,000.- works best if your full name has 12 letters in it...sarahfailin

- I would go BB58, been wanting one for a while but can never seem to justify it to myself...especially being stuck at home right nowBaskerviIle
- Good list — I like the JLC reverso. If you like to go dressier I would look at the Santos Dumont by Cartier. You can get the LG Quartz new. Great watch.wordssssss
- If you like tool watches I would recommend a look at the Enicar Sherpa line.wordssssss
- i dont do quartz but thanks for the santos recommendationtrooperbill

Traded my original Tangente winder against a little upgrade recently. I've wanted a GMT for a minute, and considered the Zurich but still love the simplicity of the Tangente.
for the collectors here - I went through Chronext for it, which was a surprisingly good experience having never bought a watch over $300 online. I opted for picking up at one of their boutiques which turned out to be in a WeWork in Toronto which was a bit of an odd experience, but their customer service and follow through was pretty amazing considering I got the watch through them via an AD for over 2k less than msrp before my trade.
- pic not mine, it wears a little smaller on my wrist.ben_
