maybe it needs a reflection, shiny bevel and a dropshadow ;)

i would just adjust the first f left and make a little room that way..

the weights of the letters feels off. almost looks arabic or something.
solid start though.- I think that's a good thing. Arabic writing is the Next Big Thing.i_monk

have you considered a slight skew or italics? would make it a little more dynamic and italic f's sometimes have a nice little tail that might give the logo a little extra umph.

I love how vines has become a standard option, like ligatures

I preferred the first one to be honest, this one looks less cohesive.
I think the e > c ligature looks arbitrary, like you simply shoved the two letters together too close, which is the exact opposite of a ligature, it needs to run together more logically. I reckon you should at least slightly italicise the double f - it'll give the lettering more flow through the word and help close the more awkward gaps in teh kerning.

to me this looks like the work of someone who wanted a typeface to do all the work for him, I mean, you couldn't even be bothered to join up that first e to the f let alone reshape anything or add any personality.
oh and LOL at the suggestion of vines and 'si-scott', yeah great idea to build an identity based on a dying (should be dead no thanks to the horse floggers) trend.
get in there a draw something with some feeling and stop expecting shit to happen in 10 minutes at the touch of the kern button.

Try 'stacking' the fs to give some height to this thing. it feels very flat at the moment. I, unlike kelpie, would not recommend italicizing the fs. Feels too easy...
There's also not a lot of rhythm in this...the strokes on first e, c and t feel truncated and end just 'end'. Finesse those more.
If all else fails, maybe try another typeface.

script letters really should be joined.
and i'm telling ya.. italicize that ƒƒ
if you look at almost all ƒƒ ligatures, the second ƒ is generally a notch higher than the first.
but it also appears that you're not really hearing anyone's feedback so whatever.

You've opened it up too much.
If you italicize the FF, you have to italicize the t, and I'd avoid both because then it'd look o//oo| or o//oo/
Try bringing the first e into the bar of the ff...Try a version with a reverse oblique, so it's all \\\\\\\ in your grill.

Sorry, I just found this thread while looking for something else. I don't think the issue was to open up the 'ff' but to convert it to ligatures. Look at the way the letters interact with each other here...
I agree with the italicized 'ff' though, or something along those lines, the logo needs something to give itself purpose. I preferred the version with all the joined letters, there's no point joining only two.
Still, great work so far, love the type!
- I'd be more inclined to close up the space between the 'ff' instead of opening them up.5timuli
