    I preferred the first one to be honest, this one looks less cohesive.

    I think the e > c ligature looks arbitrary, like you simply shoved the two letters together too close, which is the exact opposite of a ligature, it needs to run together more logically. I reckon you should at least slightly italicise the double f - it'll give the lettering more flow through the word and help close the more awkward gaps in teh kerning.
