There is no science, it's moral relativism and mythology.

But to say that someone is a 'lesser' person or cannot have the same rights as a heterosexual person because they are homosexual just doesn't sit well with me.

(Jun 28 06, 08:09)To make sure I'm not removing myself in an impersonal way from the discussion, let's say a gay friend of mine gets married. They want me to be in the wedding. I politely refuse because of moral objections. They ask me to be the godfather of their adopted son. I happily accept.
I would still hang out with them and support them as a friend; however, I would not take a stand for their rights as a married couple, because I would believe that they are breaking laws of marriage that were set in place by someone much more powerful than the US government, and are not lawfully married as far as God is concerned. If they needed money and I couldn't afford to help them, I would cut back on my spending habits and find as way to give them money.
Would the above scenarios make me a bad friend, in your opinion?

Mimio, the story is warning about what immorality can bring.
People who do bad things can still find favor with God, because has his purposes and does base his choices on human performance. And even after God invades an individual's heart, they still can, and do, do bad things.

Correction: does "not" base his choices...

You must have Dr. Bob Dobolina on ignore. He was asking for the scientific explaination of that story.

Mimio
(Jun 28 06, 08:19)I do.
And why does it require a scientific explanation? Which portion requires a scientific explanation and why? Support your answer.

(Jun 28 06, 08:19)Well then I feel sorry for your understanding of friendship. Friendship should never be blind love. No relationship should, for that matter. True friends sharpen and challenge each other and are unafraid to disagree.
- mrdobolina0
I would think you thought you were better than your friend and were being judgmental.

Discipler, I have no idea. If you'll notice I didn't agree, either that or I totally misunderstood him. Why don't you take him off ignore and ask him yourself?

(Jun 28 06, 08:22)Well you would think wrong...which is fine. You are entitled to your assumptions.

why on earth would you support their rights as parents without supporting their rights as partners?
- Jaline0
You're not a bad friend, but you're not a great friend either. Of course, most people can find other friends that have the same beliefs as they do, which means that it wouldn't be a big deal that you don't have the same beliefs as they do. I think they would be more disappointed than upset, since they are your views and opinions, after all. To take away someone's happiness all b/c of an INSTITUTION like marriage, where about half of the heterosexual couples get divorced, isn't right, imo.
