moth. I was saying labels such as those are fine as adjectives, but as nouns their destructive. The way i read it, "i have nothing against gay men" and "i have nothing against gays" has a subtle difference, and highlights an attitude of the speaker who seems at pains to differentiate his/herself from gays/blacks.

k0na: I'm not Christian and didn't even know about the Easter bunny's roots until I was in the latter parts of elementary school. Like 9 or 10 years old. I didn't know that most of the holidays I celebrated were based around Christianity.

There is a difference between disagreeing with a lifestyle and saying, "I hate them gays!"

I think I know what Wildflower was trying to say.
'You're a gay' can be seen as being slightly offensive because of the 'a' added in there.
Nobody I know is offended by this, but I can understand how it could be taken the wrong way.

I see homosexuality as no different. Where people go wrong is in hating the PERSON. I believe you can disagree with someone's actions and still care for them a great deal.
