To the bike enthusiasts: what type of bikes do you ride? 10 speeds, mountain bikes? Do you think that we are getting to old for cruising around on a BMX? Also has riding your bike helped you get into better shape?

I have 2 BMX bikes btw. One is a fully restored PK Ripper. Although I am thinking that a mountain bike or 10 speed would be better for transportation.

I don't feel that anyone over the age of 18 should be on a BMX, but then I am becoming remarkably conservative these days.
I've got an 8-speed 'mountain' bike, but with city/road tyres an'all that shit... I am/was *the* unfittest person I knew, but after a year or so of riding I actually feel pretty fucking healthy.
And.. I actually enjoy it :)

one old mtn bike w/ amp front suspension turned into a city cruiser with 1" slicks.
no tiime to ride either of them :(

I have a 24 inch DK bmx cruiser and I am 32, Nairn.
I can do peg grinds. let's see you do that on a mountain bike. ;)

I still rock a old school DB BMX,
but I plan on getting a stripped down cruiser, for city riding. I'm 6'3" so peddling a BMX for an hour or two kills my back.

never too old to kick it old school on the bmx...
bikes are the only way to travel in this day and age...
i ride mountain and bmx.

Single speed cross bike..... it's a BMX on steroids. It gets you in serious shape because there is no cheating with gears. If you can't ride the terrain you're walking it.
