where is your god now?
- The Devil put it there to lead people away from the truth, to deceive them into thinking evolution is real.monospaced

i find the prospect of multiple species of man existing at the same time and interbreeding to be a much more dramatic and interesting story than "god did it". i wish these periods were explored more in film and literature as they composed much more of our history than the recent few thousand years...
jean auel did a great job with the clan of cave bear saga but it could be explored much much deeper

Satanists seek spot next to Ten Commandments monument on steps of Oklahoma's Statehouse
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/1…
In their zeal to tout their faith in the public square, conservatives in Oklahoma may have unwittingly opened the door to a wide range of religious groups, including satanists who are seeking to put their own statue next to a Ten Commandments monument on the Statehouse steps.
- pending approval, wouldn't hold my breathZOOP
- Aren't Satanists just Christians? I mean, if it weren't for Christianity, the concept of Satan wouldn't even existmonospaced
- same with atheists. no religion no blind faith atheism...yurimon

I'm kinda sick of people associating everything that happens with a GOD. wtf?! people still believe in an old white man sitting on a cloud somewhere making decisions based on good and evil?
I just hate that one tries to have a conversation with a person and they respond with "it's all in gods hands, it's his will, not yours, etc etc." how about, fuck that. be responsible for your own decisions and choices, stop blaming an invisible imaginary friend on everything. and please for the love of all things sacred, stop assuming i believe the same fairy tales you do._rant of the day, thanks religion.

it's an excuse to judge others and feel smug, mostly fear basedZOOP - also people miss understand concepts of god. how ever i agree on responsibility partyurimon
- the fact that there are several concepts for god and nobody seems to agree only supports the argument he's not realmonospaced
- and since nobody knows shit for sure, there is no misunderstanding... everyone is just guessing anywaymonospaced
- unless you're atheist and just say that gods in general are not allowable in this realitymonospaced

Using it to excuse inaction is stupid, but i can understand when people chalk it up to "god's will" when it's something that neither they, or anyone else, can do anything about. Pretty much the same as saying "accidents happen" for non-believers, except the believers get the (false?) security that it's ok because the big G man's still pullin the levers
- i get it, i guess what i find annoying is when god is brought up in every conversation. it's not until lately that i notice how much people depend on this idea of a god. what would be of them without it. damn religion has you by the balls.sea_sea

gonna elaborate here on your note mono...
i agree, the good things are always associated to this wonderful god, but what happens when a kid gets cancer for example. not fair to tell a parent your child will die because it's what god wants. how about just saying your child is dying because he has cancer. we separate science and religion to the point people live in a sort of alternate universe. what's up with some religions, where they won't even allow blood transfusions. "if god wants them healthy he will cure them now." i find that so sad and ignorant, how can a parent just resignate to that? just let your loved one die because your religion told you it was the way to salvation. so harsh, yet i get how it's a way of coping with something they can't do anything about, but to not allow science to do what it's good at. ugh.- +monospaced
- Something happened in your life where a kid with cancer is dying in a religious family?yurimon
- that's irrelevant, yuri, the point she's making is that people give credit to god when shit happensmonospaced
