- I love a bit of Hitch, a sad loss to the world.Wolfboy
- I love this guy. But comparing yourself to Moses in the 1st minute is not going to help.********

you referring to these guys? christian scientists?
- yurimon0
I understand what you guys mean from conventional brain washing point of view. Yes there are religious fallacies and scientific fallacies alike.
cause if some one has cancer and they seek modern medical help and it turns out chemo was not good for them and they die. So nobody questions the method of belief? cause its a method and you died methodically its ok and your not an idiot.. lol
- Wanna unpack that last statement there, yuri? You kinda stepped into nonsense land therehereswhatidid
- i've re-read this like 6 times and it's still nonsensescarabin
- i think he's trying to suggest religion is superior because medical treatment doesn't always workscarabin
- despite religion NEVER workingscarabin
- I assumed he was saying people don't question modern medical techniques when they failhereswhatidid
- which is pretty much bullshit.hereswhatidid
- which isn't true, obviouslyscarabin
- Medical treatment is a science and can ONLY improve when it fails.monospaced
- how you know there isnt a cure already and they arent just making money off your ignorance. yay zionce.yurimon
- that's people being evil, not sciencescarabin
- science cures everything if you have shit load of money to buy all the best doctors in the world and couple hot nurses having orgy on the side while treating you.pango
- orgy while treating you. Rich fucks don't die from cancer! everyone knows that! SCIENCE! Bitch!pango
- yurimon0
If you have cancer. And you think modern medicine is going to help you...and it turns out killing you. So technically you based your choice on ignorance or belief in a method? somehow it is more exceptable then the person who died because he had a religious belief.
- of course it's more acceptable. treatment with a chance of success is always better than no treatment and no chance of success. that was seriously your argument? lolscarabin
- success. that was seriously your argument? lolscarabin
- Alot more people die of the treatment then the disease technically but you still worship the infoyurimon
- its ok if you die methodically basically..yurimon
- well if science is true then it must be successful right? not infallible you cock worshipers.yurimon
- you really can't get a handle on logic, can you. when your sentences DO make sense they're total bullshit.scarabin
- oh please. you make these claims and can fill the holes in your logic.. no different the monkeys before you and shit they were told to believe.yurimon
- they were told to believe.yurimon
- tell yourself whatever you need to justify your denial of all logic in your life, matescarabin
- in the meantime the rest of the world will continue moving forward without youscarabin
- hey, maybe when you've spent your entire life with your head in 2,000 year old sand you'll go to heaven!scarabin
- I'm not religious but you are free to believe in logical fallacies all you want...yurimon
- man that makes it even worse. you deny all logic for no reason at allscarabin
- you're worse off than i thoughtscarabin
- Your logic is based on?yurimon
- science can at least tell you the chance of survival. but god can only tell you he works in a mysterious way.pango
- excuse my scientifically language but god sound like a cunt.pango
- BOOOOOM!!!pango

If you have cancer and you're interested in seeking treatment that has proven effective for the vast majority, then you would seek medical treatment. Seeing that there is no one form of cancer, nor a cure all for cancer, not all treatments are guaranteed and the outcome always comes with a percentage of failure. But the FACT is that the treatments, like chemo, do fight and kill cancer cells extremely effectively, and we know this because it has been proven in theory and practice scientifically.
But if you think because medical treatment can't cure cancer and for that reason you won't try it even against medical advice, then that's your choice. You'd be an idiot to do so, just like youd be if you tried praying for a cure.
- You really buy that shit they feed you lol.. pharmaceuticals manipulate long term survival data.. think your odds are 1% or something.yurimon
- I personally know several individuals who have overcome cancer with medical treatment.monospaced
- i know some natural method, some didnt do well. and only 1 stem cell treatment sucess, china.yurimon
- cancer treatment is amazing nowadays actuallyscarabin
- 68% survival rate as of 2008 http://www.cancer.or… 1% my ass yuriscarabin
- if you make it past 5 years your a survivor if you die 6 years statistically your still a survivor.yurimon
- if science is so good at curing cancer why is there more cancer per person now then ever.yurimon
- I knows mo money, mo money.yurimon
- there are a lot of factors involved in a rise of cancer incidents, including cultural eating habits. it's not science's faultscarabin
- Chemo kills cancer and everything else thoughmoldero
- Science is constantly hampered by corruption, recent evidence shows that cannabinoids kill cancerZOOP
- yes, scientific evidencemonospaced
- Human life expectancy has increased by roughly 30 years since 1900. Was that magic?hereswhatidid
- Funny how the cancer rate increases dramatically beyond 40. Might skew that "more cancer now than ever" notion.hereswhatidid

here is a recent case, i'm sure it's somehow linked to religion.

- too bad there is no heaven. :/ derp.sea_sea

- yeah, advertising is evil. wait, what was your point?scarabin
- corruption exists? NEVARZOOP
- world was flat. now it isn't. cigarette was good. now it isn't.
I had sin and Jesus died for my sin. I'm still a sinner.pango - science and religion are both corrupt. we are fed bulshit on all levels in the info chain..yurimon
- < wait i thought... huh?
moldero - yurimon is on board! :oZOOP
- Yeah, and how did we figure out smoking was bad? Praying to Jesus? Meditating? Hindu texts?hereswhatidid
- once again you're mistaking the scientific community (which is cultural, human and makes mistakes) for science, which is pure and logicalscarabin
- a logical method for deductive reasoning. if you can't make that distinction you really have no business asserting an opinion on anything herescarabin
- anything here since you can't even understand what science is. seriously, hundreds of posts later and you still aren't operating on a correct definitionscarabin
- correct definitionscarabin
- but thats what the issue when someone talks about fallacies in science. scarabyurimon

I met with a client today, we ended up talking more about his god than our work. I was also invited to a Christmas service at his church. Pleasant regardless.
Since then I've wondered if I could invite him somewhere to make a big deal over not believing in his god.
And now I'm just wondering if he would get my point or just be offended that I would have the audacity to attempt changing his mind through the use of organized peer pressure.
thanks religion, so glad I don't have to deal with you often.
- No need, i feel sorry for people that have a belief/hope system. I just soften myself.teh

I could worship the sun, moon believe in unicorns dragons and yes even trolls! We have fabricated so much coolness, gods goddesses deities buddhas etc why pigeon hole yourself to 1 belief when there are 100s of thousands of beliefs. I don't think we celebrate enough but I will say this with so many religions, spirituality here in america there is a lot to celebrate. I like to drift and see all that there is. I was raises in a catholic family and probably the last 15 years I have been exploring all that there is religiously, spiritually and scientifically. Maybe that is my religion? The religion of independent atheistic thought.
