^ my wife found this the other day, and i had seen it from the vid of the day thread here, and it occurred to me that the song and the video are perfectly paired (kind of a no brainer, i know).
While the stop motion video is great, if it had been set to some other music, perhaps something less contemporary, it wouldn't have had the same vibe and, in my opinion, wouldn't have been as successful.
Similarly, if i had heard the song on the radio, without the visual to go with it, i don't think it would have made as much of an impression on my as it did.

there was a house meeting tonight to setup a neighborhood watch. as the economy has gotten worse crime has risen fairly quickly. the cop we met with let us in on some of the oakland lingo

and i learned that one of the best ways to deter a criminal is to start taking photos of them – if they're hanging around outside and you lean out your window and begin using your flash they'll split lickity quick.
haha and a woman at the meeting demonstrated the 'crazy act' she learned in self-defense training which included her yelling JESUS a lot, waving her arms about and finally stopping in a kind of combat, karate stance. hahahah. and they recommended that if i were to be approached by someone threatening that i should roll under a car!
luckily i have a very safe and secure building and enjoy being inside my apartment. i think i'll stay inside until 2010.

Truth be told, I have cheap haircuts. I went to get my sides and back trimmed and told the guy what I wanted. He's like... you want the V style then? I'm like... errrr... I guess. He trims the sides, then wets my hair on the back and top, gets out a dryer and starts brushing it all up. I have really thick bushy hair so I looked totally retarded at this point, with a certain amount of disbelief thinking... he must know what he's doing... he's just doing that to cut it a bit...
Then he's like, done! Gets the mirror out and I'm like.. hmm interesting but I normally have it like this, fruitlessly trying to brush it back down with my hands to no avail, with it being stuck in place. I'm not going there again!
