"On the subject of who's responsible for starving nations etc - I think we all should be."
now that i totally agree with...
my only point is that i don't feel that one nation not helping a starving coutry to 'others expectations' is the same as murder.

not US bashing at all. Its called politics and world affairs.
I love the US as much as I love my own country.

calling discussing global politics nation bashing is ignorant protectionism. spreading lies is wrong but ignoring the truth is also wrong.
Back the original point. I think the idea of building a new office complex on the site ot the twin towers is typically disrespectful. There are two many graves there for it to be right to build another money making building.

was working on the military cars cd-roms(sells cars only to military personal) & got one of those cnn breaking news emails saying a jet hit one of the twin towers.
next i went to a suite down from me wich was a stock brokers office that had a tv so i could see what was going on. next thing you know they stated that a jet has crashed into the pentagon. i thought to myself that this cant be happening.
then the 2nd jet hit the other tower. was like oh shit. i felt really disgusted and shocked that his shit could happen here. i then told my boss i cant work today and went right home listening to the radio for news and such and called the freinds that were staying over from utrecht. told them not to go into the city today.
as i soon as i walked in the door, i grabbed a heineken and watched the horror of all the shit that was going down 30 miles away.
the next day we went to union square and lit candles & cheer each and very fire truck that passed by. they waved back and blasted their horns.

lowimpact, you are as wrong as the Flat Earth Society. Everyday we let that land sit unused is another day Osama and his buddies smile as winners. That is the most valuable real estate in the world. If you died there, would you want the financial center to stagnate because of your completely dinsintegrated corpse?
If you watch the Ric Burns PBS NYC Documentary, you see that it was a handful of people calling the shots in the 60s to get the orginal WTC building underway. I only wish it was like that now, so all this crippling, false sentimentality could be put aside for the sake of the greater good.
The sooner we build, the sooner we heal.

I agree, build it up and move on, of course they are going to use it for money making, it's called capitalism, good or bad, that's the reason USA has so much $.
- loudubs0
but really, "people" are the reason america has so much bread, so it should first honor the people before the abstract notion of capitalism which is an easy applesauce in which submerge the bitter pill

well if I understand terrorism It will be targeted again. Its what it represents to the terrorists that is the problem. you cant fight fire with fire. terrorism isnt one person and you cant beat it by bombing a country to bits. It is things like that that create terrorism. Remember Osama became a problem after the US occupied Saudi Arabia.
Terrorism is reactionary. When you say Osama and his buddies do you mean the CIA because they were very much buddies in the past.

speaking of the terroism..
i would like to see isreal get the fuck out of palestine and stick to their borders that was set up in the treaty, and not let the jews settle in palestinian territory. thats what the whole problem is.
