i was in new orleans, drinking in a bar after working till 5am. my buddy was drawing jet airliners on bar napkins over and over again, one overlapping the other in a choatic pattern. the first one he did went to some guy who claimed he had just been signed to epic records, and was going to use it for cover art. later the musician was doing coke on the bar, celebrating. went home and to sleep, woke up to my mom telling me what had happened for 10min BEFORE mentioning my dad (a pilot) was flying a trip that morning and was ok. just surreal. afternoon my boss at the time made me sand a set of stairs we were faux finishing. i never felt so fucking worthless in my life. that night my brother called. he had tried to get ahold of USAIR schedualing to find out if my dad was OK right after it happened. "I know you can't help me but i just want to know if my dad is ok" I broke down after i heard that. Cant even imagine what people in NY were going through.

CyBrain, you point the camera at some bright light outside and press the White Balance button to get the colors right...
Had no idea ppl here were so sentimental. Yeah, shit will his a fan soon. I'm juts hoping that it will happen again when i'm in manhattan. The worst part is that this semester all my classes are in the afternoon so if shit happens (and i'm pretty sure sooner or later it will) in early afternoon i'll have to watch it on TV.

i was at home in england cooking burgers and a pal called up in hysterics telling me the worlds worst terrorist attacks had just taken place in manhatten, the world trade centre. i may be a little naive, but i had heard about the trade centers before but didn't really know much about them and didn't think it was that bigger deal, asked him if he wanted a burger, he told me he was serious, i said so was i, does he want a burger, i've cooked too many. finished cooking my burgers and turned on the telly.it was unclear coz i just come back from canada and the arial was shagged, but it was clear enough for me to hear the newcasters in utter disbelief as the tower crumbled. he said there could of been up to 50000 people in there. i lost my appetite.

i remember having the same reaction as many others when hearing a plane hid the tower....i thought it was a tourist plane like a cessna doing a sight seeing flight and made a cock up.
luckily we had a tv hear so we put it on and i remember saying to others that it seemed to be a pretty big fire and damage for a cessna (we didn't have the sound on the tv) suddenly we saw the second plane hit the tower and from that moment on the image of seeing the plane hit, the explosion and the knowledge that people died right there, i've been haunted as millions have also.
Everything seemed straight from a movie, kept waiting for James Cameron to appear.
The second scary part was seeing people jumping from windows, you then see how how bad it must been so that people were that desperate to jump, thats a scary fucking thought.
Thoughts with the families who lost.

yeah StyleJunky, exactly, nobody gave a fucking damn when close to what 1 million Rwandan's died right? Do most people even know about that genocide or for that matter give a damn? I think close to 600,000 people were killed and we speak of some small 9-11 stuff. Give me a break!

I'm all for peace and that stuff and for remembering people that died in WTC, but come on, if you step back and take a look at the big picture, yes 600 people die everyday in RSA alone and even more throughout the world, but not much is done about it and terrorism extenuates itself daily and is sometimes promoted by the powers you think of as freedom lovers, I don't mean just the US either. ;)
