Recently my contract ended over at EA (Electronic Arts). Figured since I hit the 50's a couple years back, might be smart to find a spot and show my love for the last leg of my career (FUCK WE ARE OLD)
ANYWAY, it was a temp contract with the hope of getting pulled in full time but due to the buyout from Jared and the Saudi's, there was a hiring freeze thus killing my chances (or at least that is what I was told.)
So, after a year and a half, dropped back into full time freelance, which thus far has been productive. My first project was for Orlando City (MLS team) for this weekend's match against Miami (Messi). Decided to really dive in on this one. All pen tooled (except the typography) and old school mouse. Took a minute, but felt nice diving back into the illustrative world.

First off, I'm not getting in the middle of whatever squabbles some of you have with grafician, but good grief... the concerted effort to downvote anything he posts - several posts of which I see posted here, is ridiculous. He has literally posted links here that had anyone else posted, they'd be upvoted. Everything he's posted here is relevant to AI, and is mostly free from literally any perspective of his own that some of you are always hellbent on tearing apart. Some of his posts are just links, or quotes... and all downvoted.
So can some of you just like... chill?

Utopian, that 60 Minutes segment is really something. The video art that guy is making... seeing that in person would be incredible.I think that was a well justified and rewarding use of AI. It's something that with a non-AI approach could probably be created, but would take so much longer. I can't even imagine. That's where it's fun to see AI pushed to the limit to bring to life some outrageous vision that feels brand new.
I like that the one woman talked about the ethics of AI theft, image training, etc. It feels so long ago already that it was fun for a while to use Midjourney, etc. and say "make something in this style" but I'm glad I tired of it quickly. The novelty wore off fast.

Our eldest daughter has accepted a job offer closer to home, full-time, double the salary, promotion opportunities, ongoing training... Amazing!
The only catch? A three-month trial period (paid), and she loses her previous job.
A mix of happiness and nerves!
