I think people generally take religion less and less seriously as time goes on. Four hundred years ago people would torture you for being anything but their religion, and they honestly thought they were saving your soul. Society is maturing I think.

The problem is, so many are trying to jam the wrong puzzle piece into the hole. Just my opinion.

(Apr 19 05, 13:10)Yeah, many people are becoming dissatisfied with their church/religion/whatever, because they don't feel that it provides what they're looking for.

Well, I've never believed that the satisfaction people seek, lies in a "religion". My personal belief is that the peace and purpose which people are looking for, is found in a relationship, just as the Bible teaches.

what i'm getting at is that what people are looking for (relationship with God, accurate knowledge of the bible, etc), are things they are not recieving. therefore, they're dissatisified.

Interesting. I never thought of myself as a "quaker" in any way shape or form.
Also interesting how so many people in here are Unitarian Universalists.
Also interesting that I was raised Roman Catholic but that was at the very bottom of the list for me.

-HymI have much of the same attitude towards pop culture, commercial advertising and fashion.
