I get nobody likes the Islamic theocratic state in Iran but there are also 1 million Christians living there and 20k Jews and 25k Zoroasters and probably 30 million irreligious people as well, so “ending their civilization” risks the deaths of millions of these people as well.
I think it’s just a game of chicken and in the end they’ll go back to how things were (minus a few Iranian leaders) with the straight opened again and Trump claiming victory - even though it’s just status quo.
