I should've tried, at least once, to get a voice acting gig.
I think I'd love a job like that.
- It's never too late! Ring up some recording studios, and record some samples.Continuity
- Friend of mine is a voice actor. Makes great money and loves it. He was the guy in high school who could narrate an entire Monty python film with all the voicesGnash

I've watched so much TV, played so many video games. If i see my life flash before my eyes before i die, I'll be watching all the TV again, in reverse?
- Just think, 300+ years ago you would have spent your life looking at the behind of some livestock you owned. At least now it's just a screen.shapesalad
- Thank you Industrial Revolution!shapesalad
- Well, if you put it that way, I shall feel better about it :)jagara

If a wormhole through space and time took you to a point outside the observable universe where nothing you were to do could possibly interact with the events causing you to enter the wormhole in the first place due to expansion, would this solve the grandfather paradox?
- I like turtlesinteliboy
- I think it wouldn't, since the whole grandfather paradox relies on traveling back to kill the grandfather :)rzu-rzu
- The grandfather paradox is a simplified version of "what if you change events to stop you from time travelling back in time in the first place?"kalkal
- In this scenario, you literally wouldn't be able to.kalkal
- true, but it's not really as much a solution as it is avoiding the problem :)rzu-rzu

. o O ( Whatever happened to FlashMobs? )
- I just had a scan of the papers and a deep hollow set itself in my gut. Idiots mobbing TV stations here in the UK, masses thronging in Kabul...Nairn

To catch the emergence of the internet as a mass medium and even be part of 2000s web design boom as a young kid, too see AI development unfold -- this is the best time to be alive, within a 1000 years perimeter backward and forward in time (maybe not in terms of life quality, but it is the most interesting time period)
I probably won't be able to visit other planets/experience space tourism, but the 20th and 21th centuries are the turning point in human history, enjoy every moment of it
- I feel like our grandparents had a pretty good run. They started with horses, got electrified in the home, witnessed the birth of the transistor, the bomb...monNom
- That's what I thought too. Maybe in a 100 years this planet won't even be hospitable anymore. For now we're living in prosper times.NBQ00

Jim Carrey knocked out Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber in just one year (‘94), and all three were fantastic.
But yeah, if you’re only counting one film per year, he still has Harrison beat:
94: Ace Ventura
95: Batman Forever
96: The Cable Guy
97: Liar, Liar
98: The Truman Show
99: Man on the Moon
00: How the Grinch Stole Christmas
01: The MajesticHe keeps going after this but skipped ‘02 so i guess they don’t count. Dude was an animal.
- This is impressive. However, they had to be consecutive otherwise I would have loved to include Apocalypse Now.Morning_star
- The pashword is n!pplestoplying
- This is insanity. Jim Carrey has a career based on making ugly faces in horrible movies. The Man on the Moon is the only one here that isn't revolting.CyBrainX
- I haven't seen The Truman Show but heard it was very good.CyBrainX

I'm about to sit down and watch Zack Snyder's Justice League movie. I'm somewhat disappointed in myself for this 4 hour investment. Lord have mercy on us all.
- After viewing at least 24 revised, updated and re-cut trailers for Justice league...I find no need to watch the movie again.utopian
- 4:3 ratio is annoying. Shoulda been a miniseries. I can't sit for four straight hours.lemmy_k
- i dont mind the ratio since im projecting but Utopian may be right about the trailer prob being the better thing to watchStoicLevels
- Ooooh cool ratio must see TVnb

The thing that's never focused on - perhaps because the patriarchy didn't want to promote the capability of a young female entrepreneur - is just what a salesperson the girl who sold sea shells on the seashore was. She had some chutzpah.

- John Malkovich might be possible.monNom
- I assume you're being facetious, but the one thing I've never understood since being a kid is - why would anyone want to be famous?Nairn
- I mean stop-in- the-street famous.
I can't imagine anything more disrupitvely awful in my life.Nairn - +1 especially if you are famous for that one thing from decades ago and have all the fame but none of the money to go with it. Child actors. Must be brutal.monNom
