Yesterday Samsung announced some of their 2022 range of TVs will feature an NFT Marketplace where users can browse and buy NFTs which can then be viewed in ArtMode on their Smart TV's.
Users are currently buying and renting artworks for ArtMode on some of their TV's like The Frame and The Serif so this won't be a huge leap to get these users into buying and collecting NFTs - pieces of artwork they'll own forever and not just be 'renting'.
I think this is bigger news than Coinbase NFT Platform as CB will mostly be bringing folk who are already into crytpo into the NFT world. Whereas the Samsung platform will be bringing in Joe Bloggs. And with Samsung having over 30% of the worldwide TV sales each year, that's a whole lot of people!
- Any day now 3d TV's are going to take offShenanigansTV
- good for the oligarchs for sure.. You can now showcase your Bore Ape collection on a TV screen.neverscared
- I have a Frame TV and it comes with enough great art for free, plus you can upload your own if you want.nb
- I'm curious about that revenue. I suspect that nearly all the current revenue is from users who accidentally subscribed & have forgotten about it.nb
- However, this NFT thing could get a few douchebags who want to brag about owning the NFT that is currently displayed on the TVnb
- They could brag about a screenshot of the NFTd artwork and save some $.monospaced
- @nb Do you like the FRAME TV? I want one but with new TVs already thin and tiny bevels I wondering if it's worth the xtra $fooler
- Had the Frame TV for years, LOVE it and would buy it again. Hire a pro to mount it for you (and explain what it is so they do it right.)nb
- The thing about Frame TV is that it's not as good as other TVs but I so strongly hate the aesthetic of a TV and the Frame completely solves that problem.nb
- Nobody notices it. Unless they've been thinking of getting the Frame themselves, nearly everyone thinks it's a lit framed print. Beautiful design.nb
- If you're like me and you care more about aesthetics and industrial design than you care about watching TV... you'll love it.nb
- lol, what a flippin shitshow
https://www.theguard…neverscared - fits right into righwing sillicon valley crypto bros... that samsung tv is great for donald he loves tv. so he can buy stuff easy for melania.neverscared
- My friend has a frame TV. Cool idea, but unfortunately, the picture itself is pretty shit, especially compared to direct competitor offerings.monospaced
- Like I said, it depends if you care more about beautiful industrial or care more about watching TV.nb
- At my house we watch one or two movies per month and that's it. So it's in "art" mode over 99% of our waking hours. Worth it!nb
- *industrial designnb
- Brilliant for oligarchs with their high ETH purchases or joe bloggs with their large tezos collection alike.microkorg
- u love the oligarchs or u dont... its a way to live your life.neverscared
- looks like marketing narrative that crypto hustle is anti-empowering the oligarchs
is over now... at least u are admitting.neverscared - didn´t know there is another one ..apart from hayoth and robo that loves the trump oligarchs so much...micro is enjoys them too.neverscared
- ¯\_(ツ)_/¯microkorg
- nd, great to hear good stuff about the frame from someone who's owned one for a while. Wanted one for years but never been in a position to get a new TV ...microkorg

I see job posts for "create my NFTs".
I've never looked into NFTs besides the here-there headline, but wouldn't the person that creates the art, just make their own NFTs?
Is there some find of hefty price tag to 'register' them?
- "What' that?"
"A bandwagon!"
"QUICK, LET'S ALL JUMP ON"Nairn - I've had two different "crypto bros" reach out to me about my non-commercial digital art, talking like they'd be investment partners.evilpeacock

- Will be lots of folk out there looking to pay an illustrator next to nothing tocreate all the layers/assets for a 10k PFP Project that they think will be a BAYCmicrokorg

Hey crew - if anyone is in Tokyo Oct. 28th - Nov. 3rd, stop by TRUNK HOTEL for our second edition of CRYPTOKYO.
It'll be a smaller NFT exhibit, but should be a blast!
The showcase work will be "KING HIRO" by Tadaomi Shibuya.
It's a portrait of Hiro Fujita, a pretty famous creative director from McCann here in Tokyo who has ALS.The MISSION:
http://end-als.com/mission.htmlAs his body functions deteriorated, he wanted to start an awareness foundation for the disease and we're hoping to spread the word upon showing the piece.
It was presented to Hiro by P.H.A.S.E.2 - a prominent graffiti artist from NYC who died of ALS in 2019.
Besides the main work, there will be a ton of other great artists showing. I will be showing the latest work from my DOORS series. If you download the artivive app, you can see the AR experience - been exploring this feature and hope to do more work in that space in the future.
Anyhow, see the link below to the press release and a few pics from the DOORS series.
As always - thanks for the support and can't wait to meet folks in person if you're in town - be safe and keep creating ya'll ; )

- you mean it's all an insider's club based on who you know and your sales are based on your network of like minded influencers. I am shocked . shocked.jonny_quest_lives
- so joining the .eth gang of influencers is not a sure ticket to financial freedom?jonny_quest_lives
- Isn't all artists sales/success based on their network of like minded influencers? In the whole of the art world it's 'who you know' not how good your art is!microkorg
- @microkorg
Some might pass through the cracks if they give good head. But if you're really into the artworld you'll clearly see there's a lot a great creators.palimpsest - microkorg excelling in generalisation ... never a good sign if u r an artist yourself.neverscared
- I know lots of amazing painters who struggled to make art a career. Now their either dont do it, its a hobby or they do like art therapy. Find it sad.microkorg

So with some of the money I made from selling jpegs at the weekend I bought my first 'expensive' jpeg.
Had it minutes and already had offers for it for $150 more than I paid. Think I'll HODL for a lil bit.
- To the moon!palimpsest
- show the jpeg, or it didn't happenmonospaced
- nice one. <luddite>but i *still* don't really grasp this NFT concept </luddite>hardhat

- It's FameLadySquad No.7444
A project that caused an uproar when it was discovered men were behind it when they said it was women behind it.microkorg - the project has now been trnsferred to a group of all women to take over and they've relaunched it and re-roadmapped. because of this scandal it will go downmicrokorg
- in NFT history so i believe in the value of these. Had been keeping my eye on what was available and grabbed this when the owner halved the asking price.microkorg
- In rarity she is 174 out of 8888. Meaning she is top 2%. All others around her are valued (or for sale at) many times more than I paid.microkorg
- The fame lady squad is probably the most bankable thing you can buy right now. I wouldn't sell.cherub
- so ... I have a copy of the jpeg, but I got it for free, so what is the value and availability? really?monospaced
- Is my copy #178? Can I sell it?monospaced
- There's lots of articles on what an NFT is or isn't if you want to understand more about the art and collectibles.microkorg
- But isn’t it all kinda negated by the fact it can be duplicated so easily?monospaced
- If you aren't buying art, what exactly is the collectible? If anyone can have the art at no cost, why buy the NFT?monospaced
- freakpelican2
Well... got gifted some ETH and then it led directly to a sale from this dude https://twitter.com/TankussArt after reaching out for some "how to NFT" help.
He literally taught me the ropes then bought my first piece!
WTF when did twitter get nice!!!
So my first I minted and then sold piece all in a days time! Really feeling this is a long overdue solution to digital art and i'm beyond excited this sold!
- How much?monospaced
- it was a gift of .5$ETH then with that to start i minted my piece and he bought it for .05 $ETHfreakpelican
- Someone on Twitter gifted you $1500 in ETH?!Nairn
- Whoops sorry... .05 ETH so it was close to $150. Then he bought a piece of mine i listed for .05 as soon as i listed it. So all in all he tossed .1 at me :)freakpelican
- congrats. yes the NFT art community is a good one.microkorg
- What exactly did the buyer receive?monospaced
- Like, a screenshot? Rights? Physical artwork?monospaced

Anyone on HEN doing the #HENthousand?
Lots of artists releasing editions of 10,000 at 1tz each. Unsold will be burned after X hours.
Here's what I've out up as a #HENthousand mint.
https://www.hicetnunc.xyz/objkt/…
Unsold burned at 11.59pm (gmt) sunday night.- *'put' not 'out'.
oops!microkorg - But why?grafician
- Why what? why take part? why burn? why do art? why try to sell it? why nft?microkorg
- Congrats on the sales, Microkorg! I can see you've sold plenty of those. Were you online when the massive amount of traffic broke the H=N site on Friday?cherub
- Not only are NFTs selling, but it overloaded the servers from all the traffic! Lol. Oh, I don't see ur twitter linked on ur H=N profile Micro, u got one?cherub
- Wasnt on when it broke but heard about it. yeah 22 sales so far so im well chuffed. burning the remaining at midnight GMT tonight. Twitter linked on HEN :)microkorg
- followed!cherub
- From that edition, how much did you make in real money?PhanLo
- @PhanLo, I sold 24 in the end for 1tz each then burned the remaining. So about £40 thereabouts. But it has driven awareness of my work to others and I've sold..microkorg
- ..other works on the back of it. So over weekend made about £55. From a Jpeg it took me about half an hour to make from sketch assets I had.microkorg
- Ah decent, cheers for getting back.
It's good to hear what it was in real money. Glad you made some cash :-)PhanLo - @PhanLo, you should definitely give HicEtNunc a bash and get involved in the NFT Twitter community. I think your illustrations would go down SO well!microkorg
