Nervous about Trump, international tourists scrap their U.S. travel plans
Canadians are skipping trips to Disney World and music festivals. Europeans are eschewing U.S. national parks, and Chinese travelers are vacationing in Australia instead.
International travel to the United States is expected to slide by 5 percent this year, contributing to a $64 billion shortfall for the travel industry, according to Tourism Economics.

^ all this (and more from what I'm reading) means that people learn really fast the US right now is not the America they knew years or even months ago.
America has become hostile to foreigners. Any foreigners.
This is not cool.

Every dollars Trump-DOGE save by cutting stuff, the country loses it with all the contracts and spending the American partners are redirecting towards other countries. I really wonder how can their plan can actually make good results, for now it seems to make more damages than good.
It looks like the goal is to dismantle the institutions much more than really saving money at this point, it raises questions...

After they gut the department of education, even turning on a laptop will be a tall order. (you're ahead of the curve Baron!)
hopefully they can still open a bible or at least attend a mega-church where they can learn about satan planting dinosaur bones to test your faith.side note my son is looking into some US schools for soccer and he was informed that Canadian kids don't have to write SATs and that a 4.0 GPA in the US is a 2.7 equivalent in the Canada. nuts.
I guess those jimmy Kimmel videos asking Americans to find the US on a map are accurate after all. sigh.
- Canadian school use GPA now? It was percentages when I was in school.Continuity

Y kant kontinooity rite?Continuity - yeah still percentage, just the yanks use GPA so we need to convert our percentages to their system when applying._niko
- Aaah. Yes.
Backwards units of measure, backwards grading system.Continuity - so in the US 93% and above is 4.0 whereas in Canada all you need is 80% and above to match a US 4.0_niko
- and I'm not glorifying the Canadian education system or anything because what would a 4.0 for a Japanese or Chinese or Indian kid be? 32%? lol_niko

Texas could lose 370,000 jobs and $47 billion a year in GDP because of Trump’s tariffs

WestJet cancels summer service from Calgary to New York’s LaGuardia Airport
https://www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/a…
The Calgary-based airline announced the change this week after it “observed a shift in bookings from the U.S.”
In a statement, it said Canadians are looking to Mexico, the Caribbean and transatlantic destinations.
- Yes sure but also Canadians are poor now, can’t afford direct flights or nyc prices.********
- Also they just cancelled a direct (more expensive) flight. I bet their flights from T.O. to nyc are still packed.********
- You missed the post where flight bookings are down 70% across the board. Has nothing to do with our (pretty typical) exchange rate.i_monk
