BREAKING: Moderna says its coronavirus vaccine is effective against variants from the United Kingdom and South Africa
- Now if only 50% of population could possibly believed that vaccines actually work. Miracles do happen ask Hayomook.utopian

- @utopian, I'm not, don't worrymonospaced
- @NBQ, we're not criticizing them for being rich and successful, just that they might consider dropping a few billion on helping everyone outmonospaced
- Well. I'm kind of criticising them for being rich. That's just grotesque, that amount of money. No one needs that much.Continuity
- At that level money is such a pointless concept. To think Bezos doesn’t have a secret chamber where he drinks infant blood because “he can” is foolish.ben_

Dr. Anthony Fauci: The Highest Paid Employee In The Entire U.S. Federal Government (salary of $417,608)
- Likely less then the private sector.eryx
- To mask or not mask that is the question.utopian
- pay me that salary, and I'll advise you on mask or no mask, plus I might throw in a "wash your hands" and "6 ft social distance" for free. LOLKrassy

To Hayoth (and any other asshat minimizing covid):
1. If I do the math on your 98.9% survival rate (without looking it up for accuracy) it would mean that 3.6 million people would die in the US alone.
2. Survival does not mean recovery: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/…
3. Fuck you
- Give our village idiot a break, he's a mental midget and was dropped on his head at birth. The dull-minded commi means no harm.utopian
- Hayoth is cool with 1 in 100 people dying.monospaced

- My close friend's brother died from covid last week. I considered reminding him it's 98.9% fatal, but then decided I wouldn't be a morally corrupt asshole.monospaced
- flu kills 6% of in-hospital stay patients. Are you scared yet? And the survival rate is 99.7%.pr2
- time to put on your tin foil hat so the boogey man won't get to abduct you at night.pr2
- if you gonna get angry over facts, maybe ta least get the facts correct?pr2

I’m already not looking forward to the first few months after the pandemic situation normalized again sometime in the future after all the vaccinations. Like every dumbass will want to travel, go party and so on. It will be full of idiots trying to make up for “lost time”. Mass-tourism and crowds everywhere, selfish pricks and drunk morons celebrating.
Maybe I’m being too negative but I just hate the masses.
- Way too many people think the vaccine is a ticket to do whatever the fuck they want. So much misinformation... SMH.monospaced
- Roaring twenties! Again!_niko
- yah, prob just you being negative... everyone wants to make up for lost time that is unless your life was as dull before the pandemiccanoe
- well if someone needs to make up for "lost time" with drinking and parties...what kind of life is that?grafician
- People are already going to malls and basically doing whatever they want. Not much will change except people won't wear masks in public and will go to concerts.bainbridge
- People are already having parties.bainbridge
- Simple solution, catch the coronavirus and cough into a jam jar, freeze. try reinfecting yourself into you produce a mutant strain that is vaccine resistant.shapesalad
- by the way... what is there to stop a rouge virologist / terror group doing that? You could even try infecting mink until you have a killer strain.shapesalad
- *until you produce * typo/auto correct...shapesalad
- bainbridge-3
When will we not have to wear masks again?

"AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine is not very effective for people over 65, German coalition sources told tabloid Bild and Handelsblatt, a step which calls into question its suitability in mass vaccination programmes."
Reports say it's only 8% effective over 65.
Also instead of 100 mil. doses for Q1, they will delivery about half of that to the EU.
- So yeah, basic British cunts.grafician
- "Reports that the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine efficacy is as low as 8% in adults over 65 years are completely incorrect" https://www.sciencem…Chimp
- Also, if you're going to go full spastic on your national aggrievance, you should at least acknowledge Sweden's role in this apparent rape of Europa.Nairn

@Nairn sorry mate, it is what it is
pretty sure if it was a 100% Swedish corp they would keep their wordgrafician - but no, this is the famous "Oxford vaccine" who apparently sucks balls. Also blaming the Swedish part instead it's so so British lolgrafician
- but even if the claims are false or not, the basic point of not delivering the amount of vaccine contracted is bad, oh well, who will use AZ after this episode.grafician

“Our thinking that it’s more of a respiratory disease is not necessarily true,” Kumar said. “Once it infects the brain it can affect anything because the brain is controlling your lungs, the heart, everything. The brain is a very sensitive organ. It’s the central processor for everything.”
"The virus was located in the brains of mice at a level that was 1,000x higher than in any other part of the body. Viral loads in the lungs began to drop after 3 days but remained high in the brain on 5-6th days after infection, when the disease became more severe.”

I like Dr. Fauci and most American would agree. But handing out multiple prestigious awards while hundreds of thousands of American's are dying and millions more are still contracting the Covid-19 virus at a record pace is a bit absurd to say the least. Fauci fumbled and or went along with Trump on many Covid related mistakes and mixed messages.

here in israel we're leading in vaccination numbers, but also over 2000 infected a few days ago. still lockdown until end of month and now no flights in and out. all borders closed.
mixed results so far but everybody is getting vaccinated, that's the plan.- What about those who refuse to be vaccinated?monospaced
- mixed results for the effectiveness of the vaccine? Which on they are using? Turkey is going with Sinovac which has varying effectiveness between 50%-75%Beeswax

JUST IN: Japanese firm set to produce 90 million Astrazeneca coronavirus vaccines.
- Not very helpful for us in the EU, is it?Continuity
- Actually quite the contrary, this is good news as AZ owes a millions of vaccines to the EU rn.grafician

- But here we already quite finished vaccination of 65 over with Pfizer...grafician
- AZ have no intention of holding their end of the bargain in the EU. You're fooling yourself if you think we'll get these Japanese-produced ones.Continuity

“It has been assessed on the basis of samples from the genome sequencing that the infection from the English variant is 72 per cent higher than the average of the other virus variants in Denmark. At the same time, it has been seen in England that the contact number for the new virus variant is 1.5 times higher compared to other variants. "
This means that the new variant can already in 40-50 days make up half of all infections in Denmark"
Doctor Camilla Holten Møller, general manager of the expert group
Statens Serum Institute believes the B117 may inevitably dominate the country and likely the world by Feb/March.

Is anyone here who’s had Covid still experiencing long term effects?
I still don’t feel 100% after having it in March.
I wake up with a bubbling sound coming from my lungs which means I still have a small amount of fluid there.I was 39 when I had it and in good shape running 10k every week.
- Damn. Sorry to hear it. Just curious, how loud is that sound?********
- have you been back in about the lung fluid thing?Fax_Benson
- I had it in November. After 2 months, I still get tired immediately if I walk fast or climb some stairs.pablo28
- It's not too loud but it's noticeable. I went to see the doctor before Christmas and they said it's taking longer than usual to clear up.Chimp
- @pablo28 same here, but strangely enough I'm not too bad while running. It seems to be the sudden change in activity that gets me.Chimp
- sorry to hear, Chimp. Def get it checked out by a doc; could be unrelated to covid?Krassy
