- good tor global social media marketing - intended or not.
how did j.rigs everything say: "as long it is glass we will call it glass and it will break."api - That said, Franz (Tesla‘s chief designer throwing the ball) is hot. #NoHomoNBQ00
- and there's me looking forward to space tourism haha, "no sir, it is a pressurised cabin, no sir we won't hit space debris"
I'll pass for now thanks.fadein11

For such a radical design choice Elon sure does a garbage job teeing it up for peoples minds. Hitting it with things is something an engineer would do not a designer.
- He wanted to show it‘s toughness. They hit the glass like 50 times prior to the keynote and didn‘t break but failed exactly on keynote. Oh well.NBQ00

- That‘s what I hate about the interior. All this cyberpunk future crap and then... marble.NBQ00

gotta say... i'm kinda all about this.
is it ugly? totally. impractical? yep. but he's pushing ideas that are much bigger than a truck, and the "radical" design signifies this larger shift.

So I own a 2018 1 ton diesel Ford. I use the truck for working very extreme conditions where I basically beat the shit out of it every day. I can tell you that if I drove up with this on lease there would be some people laughing their balls off.
That being said there are some really cool things with this truck namely the windshield, even though the demo went pretty shity. Currently my windshield is cracked because a giant rock off of an 18-wheeler smashed into it while I was on the highway. If I didn't have to replace my windshield every season I could see that being a plus. The body being able to take a hit is handy too.
No tie on straps holds. That steering wheel will never work. No back up or trailer mirrors. Your range of visibility looks like like shit and that is just from watching a short video
Trucks are utility vehicles they are for doing jobs and hauling things. If you don't think of that first then it is just a toy not a truck.
- that would be my only question about this design "is it useful in extreme conditions being a 'truck'?" i am not so sure about that.renderedred

This thing was sharp when revealed:
https://www.apple.com/ca/mac-pro….
Couldn't handle it.
A month or two later and it's commonplace and I like it.
The future (aesthetic) is here, for better or worse and the CYBERTRUCK embodies it.
Curious to see/hear what rednecks think; will report back in.
- This here isn't so much futuristic aesthetic as much as a cheesegrater-meets-B...NBQ00
- The final left and right column of holes literally look like alien heads!!!
: )ideaist - Looks just as much like a cheese grater now as it did when it was released. It looks more like it's trying to be retro and a kitchen appliance than "cyber".formed
- I am a big Tesla fan, but man, this truck is a really, really bad call. Concepts looked fine, this looks bad and old all at once.formed
- ffs, it's a case for computer parts, with a grill for airflow and a fucking handle. Get over it.monospaced
- all this damn talk about what is clearly a pretty cool venting pattern, and nothing moremonospaced
- also +1 on the postmonospaced
- I suppose I should put my house on the market now so I can buy the maxed out version of this.toemaas
- I mean, I'd take one for free. I don't mind the look, but you could build that power for less.garbage
- There’s only been one attempt to build an equivalent and it is NOT cheaper.monospaced
- a monstrosity of a vehicleutopian
- I spent over $4K for a video-capable PM tower in '94, then sunk another $5k into it over the next nine years. This is just the modern Apple equivalent of that.evilpeacock
- Can’t wait to see the Ford version of this is 10 years time. Such vapid opinions on one person fucking about and innovating with his moneyIanbolton

If you put things in perspective a bit, this is coming from the guy that put a car into space just for fun...
But then again, Elon Musk is pretty much single handedly bringing the future to us - by building rockets for space travel, electric cars for the future of transportation and investing in solar for green energy.
So yeah, the guy invents and builds whatever he likes, like space ships, futuristic cars, even portable flamethrowers, his thinking and doing is off the charts and his attitude of "oh, I have an idea, might seem crazy, but let's do it!" is refreshing!
Why would people be against it so much?!
So yeah, if it's an electric truck with a polygon design, ofc you would name it CYBERTRUCK duh!
The idea was in the cloud, this guy got it and did it, case closed.
Personally, I like the concept.
p.s. just a reminder that in 1 month we're ending another decade - entering 2020s, basically we're in the f*ing FUTURE, so what everybody did these past 10 years to advance the future of humanity? Or even your own future? Right.

WTF?
- This must be a PR stunt/ trolling.NBQ00
- Seriously, this looks like a first prototype mold straight out of a iron factory. I love futuristic designs but this is just lazy and cheap.NBQ00
- Also is something different with Elon‘s face? Botox? LolNBQ00
- Isn't it a little high? Unless a step unfolds some people wont be able to climb in.Beeswax
- being 'a little high' definitely part of the problemFax_Benson
- "Oh my fucking god" 1:20, hahahaelahon
- I must say it started to grow on me. At first I was like WTF but now I'm like Hmm why not.NBQ00
- It looks straight out of Total Recall and I gotta say I love it. The ATV kicker at the end too. Dope. I love that Elon is such a risk taker.mandomafioso

The reaction. Can this simply be chalked up to the (Tesla as) designer casually showing the client (us) a basic concept, early days, this is where we’re headed... is then immediately bombarded with the ‘where is the final this and that?!, make the bumper bigger...’ situation?
