I don't know if we have ever debated this, but what's your preference?

For what? Drawing? Writing? Taking notes?

I've been using a nice rollerball from Baron Fig for several months now, after using black felt tips for quite a while.
Used a felt tip for the first time in a while at an event this week and think I prefer them. I have horrible handwriting; felt tip slows me down and provides a little more resistance as a I write.

depends what for, for example:
for everyday carry, taking notes and illustrate ideas, doodles...I prefer ball point like the Eye from UNI.
for more detailed drawing, illustrations, different stroke sizes, ink drawings made with pencil, drawing sessions with friends...I prefer felt tip pens like the Artist Pen from Faber-Castell.

Depends on the paper, really.
Generally speaking, though, I use either one of those 0.5 mm rollerballs from Muji, or a 0.4 mm Stabilo felt-tip, the yellow-white striped ones.
- Occasionally, I'll also use an old-school Pilot Fineliner, just for the sake of nostalgia.Continuity
- The first consideration for me, though, is how fast the ink dries. I'm left-handed, and smudging sucks.Continuity
- Left-handed here too and also hate that.mg33

ok
for illustration i use the Pentel brush pen, Rottring utomatic 2B pencil, Parker fountain pen and a permanent tachikawa fountain pen the most
drawing in the air... the Parker or pencil
taking notes the Parker
no felt tip pen, no ballpoint normally if yes, the Pilot V10 or BIC

Anyone remember using these in school?
I remember the day I got my first box of staedler colored pencils and the day I got my first rotring kit in college, I even had a rotring drawing table with a T ruler.
These days I usually prefer mechanical pencil, or regular pencil for everything, unless I have to sign a check or something that requires ink

- Oh yeah and F those things. The day I didn't need them was the greatest day ever.mg33
- yeah they were pricey and kind of hard to maintain. Also, being left handed sucked, I learned to put my hand on a drying sheet or redoing the assignmentMiguex
- I still have all of mineGM278

My current daily / Writing and Quick Sketching
- Rotring Rapid Pro
- Gel Ink CartridgeAlso have the Pencil
When I want something a little more precise and detailed I use:
- Pentel Hybrid Technica
- Gel Ink Roller Ball Hybrid
- 0.5mmWhen I want to soften things up a bit I use:
- Copic Multiliner SP 0.2
- Pigment Ink----
I have like 100 more pens for different types of use as well. But those are the ones I use most.
