Oh God, I'm sad to say I lost my virginity to this band
I used to love Drowningman and Dillinger Escape Plan. I'm not sure what genre those fell into but I imagine it's close enough to get hit by a bass player slicing into the front row and take home some stitches.

Such a hard time getting first post. Thrash and Industrial are probably my most listened to. Megadeth's Hook in Mouth, Gwar's Horror of Yig, Nin's Wish, Metallica's Dyer's Eve, Slayer's Seasons... RATM, White Zombie. There was some great metal in the 90s
