- They kill anything that is good, that is a total pain in the cunt.
You'd think with all the billions they steal that that mixamo pose library would be expanded,PhanLo - but it seems they sacked the team and it was sitting on an old server waiting to die.
Fuck Adobe indeedPhanLo - I had success with it 3 years ago. Now, I took a character out of C4D's asset library, No rig, just geometry and I can't even upload it without errors.CyBrainX
- I used it the other day for a walk cycle and to get some basic poses for drawing, it was always a bit funny with certain formats, but seemed fine with OBJ'sPhanLo
- I'm still fucked off that they got rid of 360 drawing in Photoshop for no reasonPhanLo
- and the good news it that you pay monthly for this service!hans_glib
- Agreed about OBJs. That was the only way I got out of Wednesday's hours wasted trying to upload a character.CyBrainX
- I'm not sure, but I think Mixamo is free for anyone.CyBrainX
- Mixamo is back on, just wish they'd extend it rather than leave it to die Adobe style.
So much good data then they fucked it.PhanLo

While logged into Adobe, with several Adobe programs open, I try to download a stock video from them but no sorcery on earth or the underworld can trigger a download that doesn't ask me for money that's already been paid. It's amazing how many years this has been going on and it's getting worse.
- You already paid for it?monospaced
- The company I work for pays for it. It turned out I was eventually logged in but wasn't able to download that one particular video.CyBrainX
- I'm not even sure what the restriction was. It was a CGI cow on green screen.CyBrainX
- it's 2026 still using Adobe?!********
- Until the company I work for stops paying for it I don't even have a choice. I also don't see any viable alternative to After Effects out there.CyBrainX
- u cant use davinci resolve? its freecherub
- Can it import a psd or some king of layered file and make a comp out of it?CyBrainX
- I just took a look, Resolve is a video editor, not an animation tool.CyBrainX
- fusion is the built in animation part of resolvehans_glib

That trick to cancel, then get prompted to get Creative Cloud at a discounted price worked for me for a few years until this morning I got the email:
Please note that your current promotional price is coming to an end, and your renewal will be the new standard price. Your subscription will automatically renew monthly on ___.I'll try that cancel thing again when the price goes up, but I'm sure they fixed it, especially for accounts that already did this.
If you haven't tried it, try it, it saved me like $30/mo
- Signing up with a new email worked for me a few times toosyst_m

It's been dying a slow death for many years, but I did still use Animate for some things.
https://www.techbuzz.ai/articles…- I've always built my HTML5 banners 'by hand' since Flash was relabeled 'Animate'... I don't think I've ever opened the app. Google Web Designer...PonyBoy
- https://webdesigner.… is helpful at times but I only use it for setting a script foundation / outputting certain HTML5 bannersPonyBoy
- I've never 'animated' w/Google Web designer... meaning I don't use the timeline (much)PonyBoy
- Have you looked into Rive? It seems to be an equivalent and all the cool kids are using it these days.CyBrainX
- I've been trying to learn it recently since I don't have much hope for my future in broadcast. I think it's time to broaden the skills.CyBrainX
- Yeah Rive exports SVG animation and they recently added scripting so it's getting goodnuggler
- For your old vintage flash projects https://ruffle.rsGabriel
- Ruffle player playing the Flash i did in 1999! https://web.archive.…nuggler
- ^ I couldn't get the spider to kill many flies.CyBrainX
- Wish there was a Flash CS6 clone version I could run. Fuck Adobe indeedPhanLo

User blowback convinces Adobe to keep supporting 30-year-old 2D animation app
- I'm surprised this program isn't used by more prople. Isn't it comparable to Rive which is taking off like crazy?CyBrainX
- No way, Rive is way more advanced and next-gen. Adobe Animate (aka Flash or whatever it was called) is still based on the old Flash animation tools.NBQ00
- A lot of Japanese tv anime was done in FlashPhanLo
- I still use it for animating,_niko
- @NBQ00, I've been learning Rive recently and so far it's a 2D vector animation tool with scripting that sometimes takes more steps than Flash for simple tasks.CyBrainX
- ...but I could be wrong because there's a lot that I haven't learned.CyBrainX

Fuckers randomly canceled my educator CC subscription after 8 years and then charged full price for my renewal. Only found out because the finance flagged it as a fraudulent transaction! Customer support can't do recurring subscriptions, just one-year deals. So had to full cancel with refund, wait for that to come through, then I just had to reconfirm my university email address (even though its the same address I always use for my account id and 2fA) and resubscribe through the site. Fucking whhhyyy

- OoOoOoo nice, I already switched to affinititiitiiti so i guess I'll have to check this out as well good news!ArchitectofFate

I subscribed to Adobe stock unlimited MONTHLY for a couple video projects, thinking "I'll just get my stock clips for this job and unsubscribe next month". Noooo sir, I failed to read the fine print and am stuck for the year unless I pay a $700 cancelation fee.
I realize that's on me but shit, I thought I scanned pretty thoroughly all that minutiae for verbiage like that. Fuuck!
- Adobe is mental.PhanLo
- Is it even worth cancelling at this point?CyBrainX
- No, might as well keep it now until cancelation fee is waived, likely 6 or more months :(letterhead
- did you try customer support? they're deceptive in the way they hide important information, it makes me think they might cave if you kick up a fuss.kingsteven
- lolAQUTE
- Next time use privacy.comzaq
- Download all you can while at it********

got the message from finance that they got the refund through from adobe (see post 2 weeks ago) and they stiffed us £150! got on to customer support and they've issued that now too. incredible.

I just overwrote the wrong After Effects file, thereby wasting about 3 hours of work today. This wouldn't be the case if there were auto-saved files in the same folder. The preferences were set to save but they didn't. Thanks Adobe. I'll be sending you the project brief to finish that for me today.
- P.S. - Punches For stupid me too.CyBrainX
- Can you revert the file in your os?Beeswax
- been there, Cy :(PonyBoy
- Affinity doesn't save the PSD files with editable text...********
- Autosave in Adobe apps isn't reliable; It seems to only work if you haven't manually saved for time limit. Time Machine/backup is better to have.evilpeacock
- Time Machine is one of the things I miss about Macs but I'm on a Windows PC. I've never had this issue with autosave before.CyBrainX
- Autosave doesn't mean file versioning. Seems like it's your own fault.NBQ00
- I know what Autosave does. I could have had the majority of that work back but of course saving over the wrong file is my fault.CyBrainX
- utopian2
Of course, Adobe makes you go through the full cancellation process—and just as you’re about to finalize it, they suddenly offer last year’s discounted rate of $42.39/month.
Every Fucking Year!

Kudos where kudos due, sometimes there are positive things too:
The new Object Matte Tool that replaced Roto Brush in After Effects is pretty good. So much better than Roto Brush.
- nice. seems im perma in Ae beta these days. have you tried corridor key?kingsteven
- Not yet, I was happy with Keylight but I will check it out. Seems has some benefits over Keylight.NBQ00
- Just installed Corridor Key. It's nice, I can see use-cases but it's very slow. I'd only use it for specific tasks and then render it out because it's so slow.NBQ00
- It's slow and doesn't have adjustments. It either nails it right away or you have to use something else. I still expect to use Red Giant's Primatte keyer more.CyBrainX
- ^ I was referring to Corridor Key. I haven't tried Object Matte yet.CyBrainX
- Nice, yeah I have a need for a batch greenscreen tool so the timing was perfect. but i'm unsure if it'll be quicker than manual keying or even better on mykingsteven
- footage. They mentioned corridor would require 80GB of VRAM to run at full speed! It's definitely a huge caveat. Still using Roto Brush every day so thx Adobe.kingsteven

Railcut for AE - Nonlinear Video Editing plugin directly in AE, $38
- Great idea but hasn't solved the AE playback/cacheing. I'd not use Premiere half as much if AE was even half as good as Premiere at playback.kingsteven
- Yes, however these days on the fast M4/ M5 Macs it's not as noticeable anymore to just do the (simpler) editing in AE.NBQ00
- Crazy people need to create a plugin for something must be resolved years ago.Gabriel
- true, but then someone hands you some 16k footage :D i'm long overdue an upgrade.kingsteven
