- most of these look repurposed. when I was younger, anytime I cracked a deck, it was trash at that pointtymeframe
- The strange is they all seem to have the same size and scratches..Pixter
- strange thing is, people seem to skate with their feet in similar positions and do similar tricksmonospaced
- "In the middle of a complex of million dollar apartments" doesn't help to believe these are used, but whatever

- either way, hope they're weather proofed. plywood layers, and grip tape, all separate after enough water exposurealiastime

between "30% and 50% or 1.2-2 billion tonnes" of all food produced each year in the world goes to waste.
"30% of UK vegetable crops are not harvested" because people don't like bendy carrots or knobbly potatoes.
The environmental impact of food waste can be higher for some things made from plastic.

Recent skip find: Boss RC-20 looper... what are these people thinking?http://cms.rolandus.com…...
there was a skip across from my house a few months back, watched a guy ride up with a multitool and take all the door handles and hinges, another lad pulled out an old tool box and walked off with it. one of my friends came up with an axe and made firewood of most of the rest. 'twas beut.

watched my buddy barry strip down an old mixing desk for components in an afternoon last year, and then seeing the bits appearing in hand-made synths months later... beautiful. he builds lovley boutique fuzz pedals from desirable germanium transistors, all from skips.

a couple years ago i was driving through my subdivision to work and came across a couple guys loading one of these into their pickup truck. we get these guys who come out early in the morning before trash day to pick up metal people throw out. anyways, i see them loading this into their truck and i pull over and offer them $100 for the chair. the look they gave me told me they knew what they had. :/
many more years ago i had a friend who lived above a large consignment store downtown chicago. people would come by on the weekends when the place was closed and leave stuff outside the door. i'd ask him to go down sat and sun mornings and take pictures of anything 'cool' people left there. i scored these two herman miller chairs.
in my basement now
one just like this in my office
i'm always amazed how much of his stuff gets thrown out. i have a herman miller childrens school desk for my son at home too.

- This is stupid. You can still read old books.MrT
- nope, they've been abandoned because folks have turned to digital. get with the times!omg
- reading is now done on tabletsomg
- besides its wasteful to print books in a digital society.omg
- I love and collect books and you will pry a physical book from cold, dead hands.ETM
- *my cold, dead handsETM
- millions of books wash up ashore of our landfills... time to start diggingomg
- I strongly prefer paper books.jagara

- harder to stealdrgs
- still easy to steal tho..SlashPeckham
- that's not wasteful. you need room for the shelf hole, the logo, features, and other bits of info on there.iCanHazQBN
- i think it's still reasonably small. If it was smaller, people would put them into their pockets and try to take the product outiCanHazQBN
- ..with one hand... and then discard the packaging before walking out of the store.iCanHazQBN
- should be paper packagingdoesnotexist
