Before I subcontracted, 3 weeks paid, always took the check and worked through. Weekends were my vacations.
- Then my tools were stolen, housing market crashed, van repossessed, forced to sell my house. Wanted to die. mehZOOP
- Girlfriend dumped me too. Told me every day she loved me. Woke up one morning and it was over.ZOOP
- Dude, it will get better. Hang in there. You dodged a bullet, she he was clearly insane.eoin

I'm a freelancer and I do mostly short contract. no such a thing as vacation for me. I wouldn't know what to do with a vacation if I have one... working is the only life I know. T_T

Coincidentally, a friend just posted this article on Facebook. About how poor people don't get enough vacation in the US.
- well, specifically not even some major holidays... sucksmonospaced
- Wow, another friend just posted a similar article here. http://www.usatoday.…monospaced

Just out of curiosity... if you're a minimum wage worker in the UK or EU, fresh out of school, at some piece of shit place like a fast food joint, do you really get 20+ days mandatory?
- yupsureshot
- ps but you have to work like 6/7 months to build you vacation days up. In Holland its 2 per month. (fulltime)sureshot
- even working at fucking Mickey D's.sureshot
- I know it's not mandatory in the US, but we're basically the same if you have a salary job.monospaced

Every, single, person I know working in the US (respectable business) gets 22 days, plus 2 more (flex holidays).
- I also get unlimited sick days plus flexible work arrangements (from home) whenever.monospaced
- you are living the life of a rock star!sureshot
- I wouldn't go that far...monospaced
