Oh come on - the entire raison d'etre of modern Israel is as a 'home for Jews' and understandably the incumbent natives, who haven't a long history of love for Jewish people (unless you go way back to the days they were just-about-as-tolerated as Christians, as long as they paid additional taxes..) are fairly-fixated on the whole Jewish thing... so my answer to that would be similar to an answer about atrocities in the name of Islam — namely, it's got fucking everything to do with Judaism or Islam, but not everything to do with every directly-unaffiliated Jew or Muslim.

religion does more harm than good on this planet.. it creates conflict more than peace. it tells some groups/individuals that they are better than others. it somehow justifies radical laws, terrorism and war. it creates confusion around what is moral or ethic.
in the end, religion is the main cloud preventing individuals from seeing the true universal light that exists within everything. so rather than an individual appreciate and tolerate diversity, religion tells him to reject foreigners and their ideas, thus humankind cannot really move towards social enlightenment until we get real and start to reject religion as the source of a greater good
