This is all bollocks. SO you made a text based map and so did someone else, now it's time to have a better idea. Or just cry in the corner till your mum comes home and strokes your hair.

I did some searching and there are lots of maps that are similar. Someone might even say you ripped them. Just be glad that you created one that's well executed, even if it wasn't for a big public client.

Guys, I know how to google, so all of the examples I have seen before.
Believe me, when I started in middle 2008 I did massive research if there was anything similar. Not because I thought I had reinvented the wheel, but to be sure not to spend so much time on a thing somebody else did already before.
During that time there where only these things around:
Paula Scheers Maps:Three or four motives of Orkposters: http://www.orkposters.com/
And this one:
If you do some research you will see, all the other came later on.
If you google "Typomaps" you will see, that, when I published it, it massively went through the internet and print publications. But that's all not the point. It's not about ripping or getting ripped in general. I was just astound, that one of the worlds leading design agencies copies in such an obvious way. I mean, I'm only a one man show – they have millions of employees ;-). There must be so much creativity around that place, that they do not need to copy something.
I'm off for weekend now. Have a nice one.
- you had to do research to see if "there was anything similar" ? This is a very common approach to maps, and has been for at least three years.wordssssss
- been for at least three years.wordssssss
- But he's talking about starting 4 years ago. He's the one that actually started the trend.********
- dude, the above image was published in 2008, it preceded yours, ergot, you ripped it.futuremongolian
