I might as well post this here instead of making a new topic. I'm making short, under a minute animations, just for the fun of it and I'm looking for some new tracks. If anyone's interested let me know.
- Wow, really like these :-)Ianbolton
- Thanks! Yea, it's my commute project. I spend two hours on a train everyday so I'm killing time by making stuff like this.haga
- Lovely...probably a daft question but what are you creating them in?dee-dubs
- Thank you! Haha, it's AE and Trapcode. Trapcode Form for the first and third and TAO for the one in the middle.haga
- super niceGnash
- Man thats some nice stuff Red Giant does! the trapcode suite is cool, so is the Universe suite. Making me want to get this for some experimental fun ...microkorg
- ... and interesting excuse to learn AE.microkorg
- Do you do video as job or are you just delving into this and learning yourself as you go? is it difficult?microkorg
- Gnash, thanks!haga
- microkorg, yes, I do motion work for a living. I wouldn't exactly say it's difficult, but it takes some time figuring things out.haga
- Trapcode have some ok presents, so you can always use that as a start and then take it from there.haga
- @haga awesome work! love the visuals and they go perfectly with the music. thanks for sharing!Krassy

- holy hell to your portfolio, damn i wanna get it on that road, great stuff man!helloeatbreathedrive
- helloeatbreathedrive... Krassy, utopian thanks I really appreciate it! Yea, Babe Elliott Bakers music fits damn well with my visuals. Good guy!haga
- Wow would love to collab with you on this - how would you like beats sent? i have some interesting ones!mantrakid
- Amazing work!mantrakid
- mantrakid, nice! email me at cubadust/ gmail.haga
- Damn... That is fantastic stuff! This reminds me of some of the live music visuals my friend Anthony has done: http://www.effixx.co…mg33
- He's done stuff for Deafheaven, Shigeto, Com Truise, others.mg33
- Awesome mg33, thanks for charing!haga
- Great work! I figured this was CInema 4d and X-Particles but Red Giant has served you well. I love the audio too? Did you do the sound effects too?CyBrainX
- CyBrainX, not sure I want to go down the 3d rabbit hole again. I've stayed away for ten years now...haga
- And Babe Elliott Baker did the sound. Not sure he would call himself a sound designer though, but I love what he does.haga
- The sound in Orbital is actual space recordings we found and the he made a "music" track out of it.haga

Excuse this slightly OT rant but I am having two simultaneous nightmares with music licensing atm.
Firstly, a friend of mine who I played with for years told me I should register with PRS & MCPS because I was listed as a songwriter on several albums we recorded. I have been going through the process of getting registered which involved £200 of registration fees, one of which had to be a cheque, posted with written applications to both societies... I have a bunch of other stuff released and I know has had significant airplay and a few producers I've worked with ensured me that my share of certain songs should at least cover the registration fees. Anyway, whatever it is I guarantee it's not worth the headache I've just had registering myself against the works using their websites!! ... still a couple of works that are claimed by other folks of the same name that i'm going to have to sort out (and I guarantee it's not going to be worth it) hopefully mostly sorted now... but I just can't get over how antiquated the whole system is and how much I've been melted by it ...
On the other side i've relaunched a DIY psychedelic label I had years ago to get a bunch of stuff released digitally that I put out on vinyl and to release a 7" I recorded for a friends garage rock band... Currently having to do paperwork to register the works as publisher just to complete the documentation to allow the vinyl to posted from the pressing plant...
Anyway, the whole experience has been such a stress fest I'm close to swearing I'll never do it again, what a bunch of bullshit. Even the way the digital download services that are popular at the moment have a "ditch the label" rhetoric and a workflow that you can tell is designed to take a cut of the mechanical licensing of cover songs recorded by goober faced shitwads in their bedrooms on their ukuleles when they get picked up by advertisers... FUCK THIS!
Not the first time I've been put off the act of creating shit by the bureaucracy of the industry, it's been clear to me for many years the folks making money in this game aren't the artists (and it wouldn't bother me at all if I didn't know how they distribute the money that's unclaimed) but it honestly just gets worse the deeper you dig.
Anyway, this thread is always on the making side but I know a few of you guys have releases, wondering if there's any other nightmare stories I can take solace in :-D
- btw. i went with routenote for digital distribution, one of the few companies that don't take a 30% cut (you pay $5/ $10/ $15 up front for single/ep/album) andkingsteven
- works for labels/ multiple artist names. recommended.kingsteven
- You not check out Distrokid.com - Keep 100% of your royalties. They are a big single finger up to the rest of that industry.microkorg
- yeah, they're similar in pricing but have special accounts for labels that cost more... spent a couple days going through all this: https://is.gd/upxG8G…kingsteven
- also, distrokid have a load of hidden charges when you get in to it, analytics aren't great and don't really like their marketing guff.kingsteven
- Will check out that article. Looking to use a service like this sometime soon to get music onto platforms.microkorg
- it's from late last year but there is a great excel spreadsheet at the end with all the features/ costs gridded out thats kept up to date...kingsteven

Waves sale alert, all analog modeled plugins $29 like ssl, api, abbey road effects, tape effects etc
Ableton live hasn’t seen a sale in forever, it’s now 25% off
- Man I wish I could comp guitars in Ableton like Logic. I'd make the switch.section_014
- I use LogicX as well and it's fine as-is, however if Ableton were half the price that it is I'd probably have both by now, love the Ableton UI, features but $$$prophetone
- If someone was starting from zero the Ableton would be the way to go I think, with Suite you get just about everything you'd ever needprophetone
- ! have 10 Suite. Love Ableton Live, was a gamechangerr when it was first released.microkorg
- Grabbed a few new packs tonight :)microkorg
- shapesalad-3
- This is getting downvotes but it could be pretty cool to stick your own loops into and create something new with the inbuilt FX.microkorg
- I was thinking maybe you can download the software and not bother BUYING any loops. But the software itself is a subscription with loops thrown in :(microkorg
- 100 days free though so I'm prob going to download and have some fun with my own loops :)microkorg
- just make cool shit and flip it if you can. this looks like a great gateway for green producersBrokenHD

To save me from buying some hands-on synths like the Behringer Model D, A 0-Coast, Mother 32 etc I've went and bought a Faderfox PC12 that I can map all my softsynths to.
30 presets and 30 snapshots can be saved.
Means I can also setup Ableton Live template like a classic mixer and also can assign controls for Digitakt to it too.
What's pretty nice is that it's got 12 channels so if I end up getting a Digitone then it'll make a great controller for having a Digitakt (8 Channels) & Digitone (4 Channels) together.
- Sounds like a wise move to me. Soft synths are the way to go. Stuff like Massive and Razor from Native Instruments, and Alchemy and Sculpture, are great!boobs
- I have the MX12 .. seriously my favourite controller I have ever owned.. not cheap, but so fucking flexible and built like a tankautoflavour

I’ve been waiting for this one to go on sale... now 50% off, sweet!
- hate how you need to download and install some stupid XLN online installer program. the world of audio and vst's is a hard drive filling mess.inteliboy
- Yeah did that tonite with this... seems like that installer app is more about the sample pack management, unnecessary for two AU fx plugs reallyprophetone
- Installer apps are good though if youve got a lot of programs, plugins and packs from NI. They do it well.microkorg
- this thing is dope.. been using it everywhere.. I love itautoflavour

@prophetone
Just bought the RC-20 seems quality. Especially having all the effects in one place thats whats most appealing. Thanks for pointing me in the direction!
Was going to grab some of their funk midipacks too, added them to basket but it turns out that you cant buy them unless you have the Addictive Drums 2 :(
I was hoping I could just buy the midipacks and use them with Ableton Drum racks but no such luck.Do you have Addictive drums?
Seems like a way of pissing money away. The plugin doesnt even let you use your own drum samples, you have to buy THEIR drum samples. Which is pish if you've got gigabytes and gigabytes of drum samples already!Wondering if I got someone that had AddictiveDrums to buy the midipacks then pass on to me if they are just basic midi files that can be used in any daw.
- RC-20 looks great, great ui and seems like some really cool saturation capabilities... picking it up w/ DS-10 2niteprophetone
- I don’t have addictive drums, not really my thing, i usually buy drum sample packs from places like drumbroker... j-zone breaks!prophetone
- I just grabbed the DS-10 too. Seems really simple way to make the most out of your drums with one simple plugin!microkorg
- I’ve been getting lofi again and have been looking for a goid swiss army knife plugin and RC20 seems to be itprophetone
- Now would be the time though to grab addictive drums and several packs at this price for sure... but i am happy with me millions of wavsprophetone
- I downloaded the demo of AddictiveDrums and the Transform feature is amazing! You can takeone beat then tweak it to be more chilled, laid back, refined, heaviermicrokorg
- And yeah DS10 seems great to tune up each part of the break individually, very cool, dead simple, punchyprophetone
- Getting back into triphop/instrumental hiphop myself instead of electro stuff. Back to where I started lol. So yeah RC-20 is awesome.microkorg
- Not gonna grab addictive drums cos of its limitations. If it allowed import of drums then id be all over it.microkorg
