Videos were released last week
Went to buy one. Sold out.Messaged the site. They had to pause the orders as they got overwhelmed. Managed to snag one! Can't wait for it to come
- looks and sounds great, tho i suspect, as with so many of these little units with only a coule of controls, the editing is very time consuminghans_glib
- Yeah there will probably be quite a bit of tweaking to get it sounding how you want, but I quite enjoy messing things up.cruddlebub
- Arrived yesterday... What a monster little thing.cruddlebub

i have become obsessed with Roland 500 modules.. i think its somewhere between their ease of use surface level controls.. like a SH101 .. no menus, everyrhing in front of you.
im slowly building out the entire set.. and have moved into duplicates... just grabbed these two as they dont come up often.. but already have them.
i need help lol
- Have you seen the AIRA FX modules? There's an app where you can change their functions/fx.microkorg
- These 500 series modules are dope!futurefood

Two new tracks released last week.
Both made using: Teenage engineering ko2, ENDORPHINE EVIL PET and the torso electronics S4.
- these are lovely. how are you making them?autoflavour
- So I have recorded lots of field recordings over time with a little zoom recorder. Use sample packs from multiple places too.cruddlebub
- The S4 is the last line of a daisy chain. The KO2 - into the evil pet - into the S4. I can sometimes makes 573 different versions of a track before I am happy..cruddlebub
- The S4, with each new beta or update becomes a new machine. I have always loved it. I mean.. I wouldn't buy it, sell it and buy it and then sell it again...cruddlebub
- Like mantrakid! The S4 is so powerful. You can do so much with a simple tiny sound or sample. You can use it a live processor. Loop. It's my favourite thing.cruddlebub
- The evil pet is stunning. And whilst the S4 does granular synthesis. The EP pisses all over it. The work so well togethercruddlebub
- Very nice, like FSOL making out with Alessandro on a Blade Runner LA rooftop patio setprophetone
- hahahaha thats a brilliant descriptioncruddlebub
- Feel free to quote me on that for your bandcamp album review feedback lolprophetone
- Lol will docruddlebub
- These are great man. Are they all played and recorded live? Are these up on soundcloud too? Thanks for liking my last track. They take me aaaaaages!Ianbolton
- The Samples from Mars sound packs are great. I could share them with you if you’re interested?Ianbolton
- Oh yeah that would be awesome! Always love a sample pack. Yeah all recorded live into a zoom recorder. These are on SC, I.T, Spotify toocruddlebub
- Wow this is really coolyuekit
- So beautiful and clean buddy. yeah who would ever buy an S4 multiple times only to sell it again? Only an idiot.mantrakid
- Hahahaha not an idiot per say. Maybe someone who just is a bit... Impatientcruddlebub

Im thinking of getting myself and my kids a couple of the Roland Aira Compacts for making beats.
In particular the T-8 drum machine and the J-6 Chord machine.Been watching tutorials on both and they look pretty much pick up and play, I reckon even my youngest at 7 could wrap his head around how to program some beats.
Anyone using them?
Will be selling my Sp404 to fund getting them.
Its a box I have used very basically, way too rtfm needed to get going with that thing.- Don’t feel bad.. have owned 2 404 in my time and keep failing to connect . Find a cheap second hand digitakt ..autoflavour
- Worth the price of admissionautoflavour
- only vaguely complex thing about the roland compacts is you need the settings menu for some sound options and its not immediately clear what the fuck they meankingsteven
- on the tiny screen, like this on the T8:
https://i.haasie.com…kingsteven - Had a Digitakt in the past. Fun but way too complex for my kids to get their head around. Top level functions of the Compacts will keep them happy...microkorg
- ..whilst I can dig deeper when i get a shot. The Sampler one has a granular engine!!microkorg
- I had a j6 for a while! Great little machine. Part exchanged it when I grabbed the evil pet.cruddlebub

- lol @ whitedangelo hahamantrakid
- Arturia make nice feeling keys.
If you want super portable with expression then the keithmcmillen/muse kinetics k-board or Qunexus(with seq) are great.microkorg - Dude, these look great!

- still have about 6 or so of these to make.. but been frantically trying to finish the actual manual firstautoflavour
- i'm slow and old but those tips come so thick and fats. it'd help if the soundtrack mirrored what was going on visually, rather than the genero beats you have.hans_glib
- fast? phats? you choose....hans_glib
- classy site tho :)hans_glib
- yeah i had been thinking the same, was trying to smash them out fast.. but might need a revisitautoflavour
- the genero beats for what its worth are from chopgridautoflavour
- Amazing stuff congrats. Need to get this out to some of the music machine influencers on youtube get some hype.microkorg
- autoflavour2
- long hinted vaporwave is finally a thing.autoflavour

My kids 7&9 do piano lessons and the teacher organises concerts through the year. A couple of times a year she organises 'fun concerts' where you can play anything.
Took place on sunday, was some great parent kid duets, my favourite was a (french?) father and son. Father playing a double bass and his kid playing some thrift-shop retro organ that sounded amazing.
I played a gig with my two. Daughter playing Kalimba with contact mic attached - through a Blackhole Revervb on a 'Sigur Ros' preset.
I was providing some simple drums, fingerdrumming on the 404Mk2. Son was manning the iPad running Logic Pro with Bleas Synth on 'Boards' preset (Boards of Canada sound) it was sequenced, he was controling the cutoff/resonance.
We used the 'Session Musician' AI based feature in Logic to write a good bass guitar and piano track. We chopped up the original interview with Rickie Lee Jones that The Orb sampled for 'Little Fluffy Clouds' and dispersed that through the song with a little delay.
The kids had a lot of input into building the track with me on the iPad but it ended up sounding pretty epic.
Imagine Primal Scream (screamadelica) vs Boards of Canada vs something like Massive Attack. But on a sketchy level.Piano teacher said tonight that she had a lot of people saying what we played was awesome. :)

- love this :) My kids both took piano lessons as well, and they did shows like this too :)
great memories :)exador1 - Love this too :)mort_
- WTF; my post was a "Cool Dad Alert" with emojis, BUT I guess QBN wasn't having it?!
Nice @microkorg!!!ideaist - That's awesome.zaq
- Its epic that your kids are into this style an also that you are able to facilitate it for them. Sounds like the sort of show I would go to.slappy
