There's tons of paid-for versions of this FREE tool online where they will separate any tune/sample into their individual stems (ie. drums, bass, guitar and vocals). I find it massively useful for sampling stuff. Definitely worth checking out.

Finally had it mastered!

Found this an interesting video, its a nice jam that starts coming together as a track. What's most interesting is the Mastering Chain that he has.
He's not EQing or adding any effects (other than a sidechain to a synth) just adding the Master chain at the end which pulls everything together and glues it beautifully.
Some of these plugins are not too expensive (on sale) but others are a pretty penny. I was wondering if a similar chain could be built with just Ableton plugins.

Just spent £250 on an upgrade to Arturia V Collection 11.
Think my previous was 7.Some amazing synths and new toys.
Only just realised they have a shit-ton of FX vsts too.
The Acid V takes the classic 303 and adds FX, easy sequencing, modulation and arp.Loving it so far. Need to get a keyboard controller.
- Arturia let me download all their FX but only told me they were demo versions when i tried to use them in Ableton.microkorg
- Some great fx plugins, played with some. They are after £420 or the suite of 34 though. (or £99 each :/ )microkorg
- I grabbed a MiniLab3 controller from local guitar store yesterday. :)microkorg
- Grabbed Live 12 Studio upgrade tonight with 25% off. Had to be done.microkorg

I am looking at getting my hands on an op1, second hand obviously, but I have been seeing lots of videos of charge ports being broken, or not working correctly. I have also seen the part and swap isn't too tricky but I am always skeptical about buying a second hand anything...
Have any of you guys had any issues with your op1? Guessing that some of you (other than Nate) have possibly owned one or still do
At 600 UK squiggles (start price) they're not a cheap risk for 2nd hand electronic device.
- I have not had issues, now on my 3rd OG op1 haha. The main gripe for me was always just the limitations (Mono) but it definitely has a charm and character ...mantrakid
- unto itself. I would just make sure to do the test feature before buying to make sure all the knobs / keys work correctly.mantrakid
- Ahh good shout. How do you the test feature? Or is it just something you do yourself?cruddlebub
- Yeah check out this page: https://teenage.engi…...
Basically run the TE Boot, then theres a feature test to make sure it works!mantrakid - look, owned one.. sold it.. got another one.. sold it. want so hard to love it.. and there is a lot to love, but there is a lot I cant handle.autoflavour
- the aesthetic game is on lock.. and the sounds are fun.. but the whole tape recording thing was so annoying.. and the work around just to have an undo is annoyautoflavour
- the XY looks the ducks nuts.. but $3k is just too spicy for me..autoflavour

- as a tracker mini (and +) user im kinda choked that they would release this before even finishing the beta release of the os theyve been using for 6monthsmantrakid
- the software for the tracker is buggy af, not to mention limited, so to drop new hardware that will use the same buggy software seems disrespectful to...mantrakid
- people who have purchased their other things, let alone shitty that theyre launching a brand new device that has a bunch of known issues right out of the box.mantrakid
- ^ GAS farmers. 18mo upgrade cycle on several products where they betatest on you for the entire time then drop support.kingsteven

Cruddlebub,
There can be problems with the charge/audio board but i think a vid from the seller showing all keys and knobs, audio and power working would make it a safer bet.
Or you might fond someone selling one WITH these faults at a cheaper price then you can fix it yourself.I had an OP-1 many many moons ago. I got it for a good price as seller said that power switch was glitchy. When I got the device I could feel that there was dust/grit inside the switch so I found that sitting and just sliding the switch on/off slowly (and slightly pushing/grinding against it) eventually cleared the problem.
I had a real love/hate relationship with the OP-1 and eventually sold it. What I loved about it was the pick-up-and-jam-ability of the thing, its a real good creative and fun sketchpad.
The things I didnt like, no 'undo' and you have to commit. If you want a scalable track then you have to plan accordingly. You are restricted to one song at a time. Backups a pain, having to export out the tracks. etc.
I actually think the OP-1 Field addresses a lot of the issues I and others had with the original but at £1600 I couldnt justify that kind of spend. And its still 'tape' based. If I had that kind of money to spend on a wee jam toy then I'd go for the XY as it is sequencer based and not tape based. Much more scope for 'playing live' with it and making non-destructive tweaks on the fly etc.
If you have an iPad then Id recommend checking out the old but still brilliant Samplr.
- Thanks man, that's super helpful. I am winning one on eBay for under 400 but that'll easily sell for more. I'm not desperate for one, but have had my eye on...cruddlebub
- Then for a while. I have ordered the crum hum (DIY kit) and will jam with that once my cousin has built it for me lol. I'm paying him in haribo!!cruddlebub
- I've had one for about 7 years and it works as new. I still love it although I use it pretty lightly. Battery life still great.letterhead
- I will leave it for now with the crummy hum due soon. The torso S4 is having new firmware too so I have more than enough to tinker with at the momentcruddlebub

looking forward to whatever else they have in store for the rest of the year!
