- In layman's terms: WTF is going on here?mg33
- live coding music, it's been around for years. always feels clunky to me like playing a giant piano with your feet level of musical expression.kingsteven
- first live coding event i was at was 2003 in london which was intelligent d&b and experimental music. since then it's been harboured by the chiptune scenekingsteven
- and become its own thing, it is quite impressive seeing them build the songs live, but often its this sort of thing where they're just commenting in/ out codekingsteven

So, I could use y'all's advice.
Years and years ago I got really into making music and I fell out of it with a massive focus on work and life in general. Now, I want to do it again, but the software has become incredibly complex with steep learning curves everywhere.
Back then I was using warez like cooledit, rebirth, a mass of sequencers and I play keyboards and guitars. The best and only example of what I used to make that I have online ( which is probably 25 years old now ) is this:
I've been looking into D16 group's software (.https://d16.pl/home ) primarily for the 303 and 808 softwares they have the familiar feel of everything they offer. It does seem like €999 is steep, is it?
Would y'all happen to have any suggestions that could help me get back into the swing of things without feeling like I'm becoming a rocket scientist?
I'm hoping to find something somewhat advanced with the ability to learn intuitively.
- Can't beat Ableton with the built in 808s / 909s and everything else it offers.mort_

- And you don't want the Roland emulators for cheaper?canoe
- The day of sequencers is over if you're in the box... Ableton 12.2 is going to blow your mind if you haven't touched a DAW in 25 yearscanoe
- xcuz me Live 12.2canoe
- Good to see you got Ableton.
I'd say the Arturia V collection is worth saving for next.microkorg - If you have an iPad then there are apps that can do what a Ableton Push controller will do.microkorg

kontakt libraries going to be a thing of the past...
- Does it output the midi? I guess, you could ask the DAW to find the midi through the notes... I love talking in circlescanoe

Not so much making beats, but a new collection of songs I wrote and recorded, and recently released into the vast streaming ecosystem. These songs are far from perfect, the mixes are bad, the songs are short and I'm not trying to do anything with these other than share with friends and family. But it has been really fun to get into releasing music - a nice outlet away from work.
- Will have a listen tomorrowcruddlebub
- That's exactly the same for me... I'm making it for me, but love to let others listen.cruddlebub
