I was going through some stuff recently and found this book, 72dpi, published back in 2000. I remember this being "the book to have" back in 2000/2001, but damn is the stuff in here out of date now.
Also, we have this at my office. Nobody has touched it in years:
I remember that book and remember plenty of people who thought they were a total badass for owning it - like they would be great at Flash just because they had that.Anything you've got laying around like this, or anything that comes to mind that you really loved, but is now stupid?

- classic book, just for the narrative.********
- that one has a bit of a timeless quality as it's more on fundamental design then specific techniques. Good one!spot13

My mom bought this book for me when I was a senior in high school (1999/2000). It was like $40 back then, but full glossy, color-print pages and packed full of info about DHTML. I was stoked and I thought I was hot shit. I was ready to graduate high school and get rich being a web designer.
And well... I'm a web designer now, and I've kind of given up on the getting rich part.
