Anyone have it? Someone told me I may have it due to many traits such as not completing any task easy, getting massively distracted and starting something new every 5 minutes..
.. I just thought that was part of being a designer..
But I did an online test and it came out 100% ADD. Not sure how accurate these things are tho..
Anyone here have it?

wheres that test?

Sounds like a disease made up to sell drugs

Would like to see the test too.
I think that the Internet plays a big role in possibly acquiring it. We are so used to having information at a moment's notice; I know for me I think that has bled into other aspects of life. I've always been a procrastinator though, but once I'm focused I generally can't stop. Just takes me a while to get going.
But things like reading magazines, books, editing stuff - I bounce all over the place and just don't stay totally engaged until a little time has gone by.
And, most of the time, I'm usually just content laying on my bed or a couch just staring into space. Fucking lazy too!

...not that I'm against taking drugs to enhance concentration or whatever. I mean what are tea and coffee after all:)
I guess I'm just skeptical that the condition itself is real.
- I'm with you man,
its called being distracted, they just put so many symptoms so everyone thinks they have itMiguex

I've got it. Sometimes it works for me - other times not so much. I was diagnosed with UADD as a child and it hasn't really gone away. Seems like my whole family on my father's side has it.
Recently considered consulting a doctor, but I feel like it's something I ought to be able to overcome through discipline.

No such thing, just fucking concentrate harder.
- jtb260
I guess I get how you could be skeptical of it. But frankly telling someone who has truly has ADD to concentrate harder is like telling someone with clinical depression to just be happier.

i used to have problems with ADD, had temporary solutions like coffee, gotu kola, stuff like that, but once i changed my diet, more raw vegetables, limiting myself to organic meats (when I eat meat) my focus and energy is like night and day in comparison.
you can try taking liquid chlorophyll 3 times a day, that shit will detox you quick of crap in your brain like mercury which fucks your brain shit up.
- Makes a lot of sense.set
- thanks eric. i'm gonna look into the chlorophyll.sea_sea
- :)moldero
- the detox stuff seems to me like BS. why do you think we have kidneys?dorf
- kidneys can handle the natural stuff were supposed to eat, unfortunately most people almost literally eat shitmoldero
- take mercury fillings for example, mercury is one of the most toxic substance known to man, good luck with your kidneys cleaning that outmoldero
- that out, then most of the fish in the world is loaded with that crap.. to each his own, im pushing the way I eat on anyonemoldero
- except for my kid :)moldero

I've read diet makes a big difference. Somehow I manage to put off improving my diet too. I manage at work by obsessively creating checklists, and running them over a few times before I let something leave my desk. I think others find it a bit annoying, but that's just what I have to do. Balls to 'em.
At home I just let myself be a mess. Fiancé is pretty good about it.
One of these days I will have to fix my eating habits though. Or at least give it a fair shake before I consider any kind of meds.

another good supplement to take is Spirulina tabs, its a vegetable based protein, and one of the most concentrated forms of protein around, when the brain lacks protein its harder to concentrate, meat takes a lot of energy to process + it also comes with a lot of fat which fucks your shit up too, spirulina dissolves and is absorbed quick into the system, definitely helps concentration.

this is an actual first-world problem.

ADD, maybe; it can last in adulthood...
However, it could also be Aspergers - "Asperger syndrome or Asperger's syndrome or Asperger disorder is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Although not required for diagnosis, physical clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported." Sound familiar? And man, if in doubt go to a professional...

Usually people with Aspergers are excellent at concentrating. They tend to be whizzes in math, science, chess, puzzles, etc.
Lots of social problems, typically, but frequently excellent at narrowly focused tasks.

just practice focus...

Adult ADD is absolutely real and it can be debilitating for someone who has it severely enough. Forgetting appointments, lack of focus and comprehension in meetings, not being able to concentrate on one thing if there is noise or other conversations going on in the background, forgetting to pay bills, lack of impulse control, etc. I think most people have some of these problems to a certain degree but to be truly ADD/ADHD can literally ruin an otherwise bright persons career and life. It's not something to be disregarded as bullshit.
- omg0
^ symptoms are absolutely real. however, you can easily practice this, and work on good exercise and diet. but medication isn't needed unless you're just lazy. another aspect attributing to adult ADD
- Bullshit. Look at brain scans of ADHD patients. It's a neurological problemMelanie
- And scan the body of a fatty and you get proof that he's a fatty. What's your point Melanie?randommail
- My point is that it requires medication for someone to function correctly.Melanie
- Just because neurological illnesses aren't visible on the outside doesn't mean they're not real.Melanie
- medication should be used as a last resort, to things that cannot be treated naturallyomg
