What effect exactly? It could have been staged with some custom rigging nothing crazy then just photochopping out the stuff that held it up or just get out your warp tool kid.

Just stage it. Less headaches and it will be quicker to setup. Plus you might see something you like better when you do rig something up. If you do it digitally you'll never see the additional angles. Lastly I think it always looks nicer.
