seems fair enough, it's a personal thing, that does pretty much sum it up. I guess I'd rather avoid the stress of such anticipation.

    • Im bored at work. Really not much else to do but dig up batman stuff right now.CygnusZero4

i would really not want to see any of it, but it is out there for us to view.. so ill see it.. im not searching it out really.. i am on the comic book sites more then i am ever on here.. so that info is just posted there anyways.. if they want it to stop.. then their hype will just be nothing.. and what if their movie fails.. and all that attention was never given to them.. think about how all the Marvel movies are being released in India, and Europe before it releases in America.. clearly the american audience is larger than anywhere else as the history of their characters are born and created here.. but to increase that hype and revenue they release the news early and i highly doubt its not intentional that something is released on the net by accident or thefted.. also batman as a character is almost 100 years old.. and all that info of anything isnt new info.. only the chris nolan view.. but he is 1 person's fan boy.. if he was to stand alone fapping to it without a release he would have nothing..

‘Dark Knight Rises’: Christopher Nolan opens up about Bane choice
    http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2…

Hmmmm, does Batman die in this? I wonder if they make him out to be some martyr, save the entire city by giving up his life.

  • CygnusZero40

Who knows. I doubt he'll die. I think he'll suffer some severe injury from Bane, then like the title says, will rise to finally finish off the threat to Gotham.

  • BuddhaHat0

I hope for an amazing film, an epic Bane, a stalwart Batman, but I don't think I ever want to see anyone surpass Ledger's Joker as the best comic villain ever portrayed.

Call me sentimental, but he was the best comic-book villain ever. Hardy was an amazing muscle-bound freak in Warrior, and I'm happy for him to call that movie his own (despite Nolte and Edgerton's excellent performances), I just don't want anyone to even try to compete with Ledger; the most psychotic, troubled, insane, anarchic, murderous comic-book villain. Ever.

All that said, I can't wait to see Nolan's next masterpiece.

    • are you insane!?!? the best comic2film ever made is HISTORY OF VIOLENCE!!!e-pill
    • LOTS OF VILLAINS IN THAT!!! heath ledger who!?!? ha! dc comics bullshit!!e-pill
    • his portrayal was ok. but it cant be done by him again to achieve again so who knows..e-pill
    • however he doesnt even remotely compare to anyone in History of Violence..e-pill
    • ledger's performance is only great because he died.. and that is it..e-pill
    • there was a lot of weird things in that movie that the character of batman would never do ..e-pill
    • like leave gotham city to go extract someone from hong kong..e-pill
    • in the comics they beg him to leave gotham and he never leaves his city.. mistake #1e-pill
    • there was about 28 mistakes in that movie.. and ledger's death in life doesnt sell me..e-pill
    • i love comics.. and if you are going to make the best comic 2 film it better be accurate..e-pill
    • eh nov 4th love right here direct competition oh yeh no one gets it but you. hahaha!!!e-pill

Nolan's/Ledger's view and portrayal or Joker worked for film, but best ever, I think not. How can it even be measured when in reality, that Joker was not true to the comic book. It captured elements of his dark moments, but was in some ways 1 dimensional to the history of the comic character and took many liberties in order to make him more realistic. As Nolan has done for everyone.. and yes, works good for film.

Nicholson's Joker was more true to the comic, yet still left a lot to be desired.

You would almost need Heath's, Jack's and the screwball version from the 60's series all rolled into one to better capture the essence of Joker.

    best comic book to film..

    #1 History of Violence

    #2 The Green Mile

#3 Original Punisher [truest to any character, but worst movie]

..and thats about it.. everything else is something of the subjective

those 3 though are rated as the highest and truest to the originals..

    • I am baffled that they can't make a decent Punisher movie. It's really just a cop revenge story, which has been a Hollywood staple.ETM
    • Hollywood staple for ever. The Dolph version suffered from the B movie budget.ETM
    • But the Thomas Jane monstrosity has cash to spare, and the Ray Stevenson version...ETM

The dark knight rises, and then sits back down really quick because he's light-headed.

i like nolan. huge fan of memento. but these films aren't dark enough for my taste. their too polished, and have too many teaser-friendly one-liners. and i'm not a film snob. i just think this film should have more contrast. get rid of the star-studded cast and make the characters really dark with some light moments for balance.

i've gotta say though, i find these batman films to be far better than any of the other super-hero films out there.

    • in terms of super hero genre the batman movies have yes created something very speciale-pill

I think these movies are great, but it's very hard for me to see them as comic book movies. They really dont have the visual creativity there for me to compare them to comics. I see Tim Burtons 2 batman movies as comic book movies, but I just see these new ones as well written, well put together regular movies, that happen to have Batman in them.

Ledger did a fine job with the role. I guess as good as he could trying to follow Jack's, which I view as iconic. Ledger's was less of a clown, more of just a crazy guy with some makeup on. It fit the realistic style of the movie. A goofy clown wouldnt have worked quite as well.

I do think it's a little overrated due to him dying right after it, so that just elevated it in the public eye somehow, but he still did a good job. Go try and deliver some of those lines without it sounding forced, or that laugh. It's actually really hard to do.

  • CygnusZero40

Also the thing about Nolan, what you notice when you watch his movies, like Memento, Prestige, Inception, these batman movies, they are all pretty similar.

He takes great stories and just puts them on film in a very clean and logical way. He doesnt try to do anything over the top, as little CGI as possible, practical effects and stunts.

I guess his best trait is his ability to take complex stories and not have the visuals water the story down or drown it out. You look at Inception, that story is extremely intricate. You can imagine how hard it must be to put that story on film and make it work.

That's really all these batman films are. They arent really comic book movies. They are superhero movies, but Im very hesitant to call them comic book movies. Sounds like epill might agree with me on this.

    • i dont what so ever. in-fact i totally disagree. batman is a comic book character.e-pill
    • my parents are my super heroes.. real people not make believe.e-pill
    • i never seen nolan's other movies and didnt care for inception much at all..e-pill
    • i can care less for the director,, or their view.. just give me my comics on film period.e-pill
  • CygnusZero40

Yes, but Im talking about the style of the movies. There are many superhero movies that dont have comic counterparts. These movies are more like them, rather than traditional comic book movies.

My stepdad met David Goyer at a big comic book show years ago, and he didnt even consider these to be comic book movies. He referred to them as superhero movies. That's where I got that from, and have seen this discussed on comic message boards.

    • what you are discussing towards is more of the franchise than the character..e-pill
  • e-pill0

i rarely go out and see movies.. and i rarely see them on tv.. so im not in the same boat to even answer to your statement.. like i said.. i can care less to whom makes the movies.. who writes it.. so forth.. that kind of thing means nothing to me.. if they are going to portray the character in the book i have been reading all my life then show me that.. not their own version of it .. its like that chick who tried to make the spider-man musical.. she not only failed.. she hurt herself so much that everyone who loves it rejects her view 100%..

dont show me your view.. show me the original only.. otherwise i hope they fail.. hard!! and i move on.. i always have my books..

  • CygnusZero40

Yes, exactly. Im not talking about Batman, Im talking about the style of the films. They arent traditional comic book style movies, and even their writer doesnt seem them as comic book movies. That's not what they were trying to create, which is why they are so different than the others out there.

If you've seen the movie Heat, Dark Knight was very similar to that movie, and Heat had a big influence on Nolan when making TDK. Well the fact that Batman is in it doesnt really make it a comic book movie. Yes the stories are losely based on the Jeph Loeb stuff, but watching them, they dont come off like comic book movies at all.

Hell, these movies are so realistic that they cant even incorporate anything supernatural in them, like Killer Croc. That right there tells you they are only very loosely based on comics.

A lot of people who arent comic book fans loves that about these movies. Others like myself who also love comics are ok with a different take on it. I kind of think after these are done, Warner might try to go back to that, or at least try to create some sort of hybrid realistic/comic book style movie.

  • CygnusZero40

Not sure why you're having so much trouble understanding everything, it's al pretty clear English outside of one line Bane delivers towards the end.

At the beginning a group delivers Bane's men to the CIA. CIA doesnt yet know Bane is one of them. One of the guys mention these men he's brought to the CIA work for the mercenary, the masked man, Bane. The CIA wants to question them and are willing to kill them to get information, which I find a bit unusual, so it tells me whatever is going on, the info they had on Bane and their plan was VERY serious.

It's clear the Dr. is very important, knows a lot about Bane's plan, about Bane himself, and it's possible Bane personally needs him, for health reasons.

CIA questions Bane, Bane talks about how its not important who he is, but it's their plan that's important. Bane says he wants to crash the plane, stands up and says, "with no survivors". Bane hijacks the plane, punches the CIA agent in the throat wants to crash it to fake Dr. Pavels death, which is why he's transferring blood from the Dr. to a dead body. Not entirely sure what he wants to accomplish here, because in a plane crash bodies usually burn to a crisp, no blood left.

That guy who Bane puts his hand on his shoulder is one of his men, very loyal to him. Bane says something to him about the wreckage, wants the guy to go down the plane, the guy then says, "Have we started the fire?" Bane says, "Yep, the fire rises", and Bane saves Dr. Pavel. Everyone else died.

It's obvious Bane is very tough and smart, like Batman, but he's the leader of a terrorist group. Then at the end you can see Bane has a bunch of his own camo Tumblers, so he is clearly looking to start a war.

    • in terms of bodies burning there would need to be fuel, and they cut off all parts cept nose.e-pill
    • thanks for writing this up.. so the camo tumblers are not extra batmobiles??e-pill
    • They are, but not for Batman. Well I guess they WERE, but were stolen by Bane.CygnusZero4
    • True about the fuel. Good point. So its clear Bane wants ppl to think Pavel is dead.CygnusZero4
  • CygnusZero40

Jeez I just realized the CIA isnt killing them. The men are wearing hoods, so he fires a shot into the air making the others think they are killing them. Bane realizes this and says something about why they would should someone before throwing them out of a plane.

    • yeh i noticed that too in this version.. he was just firing in the air ..e-pill
    • In the cut off version and the darker one you couldnt see them drag the guy away...CygnusZero4
    • ... so you assumed they threw him out.CygnusZero4
