the best part for me was when did that mock radio interview with himself... where he lampooned his predicament, ripping brutally into the personality flaws which got him stuck there.
Franco handles that scene very well and the editing is tight too

I thought it was fucking amazing!! Saw it as soon as it came out. I'd also read a fair bit about it. Fortunately for me, though... I hadn't seen that trailer, which is a bit of a spoiler.
I really thought it was gonna be another "frozen" or one of those horrible cringey freak-you-out films, but Boyle did a fucking ace job of it. It's actually really enjoyable and makes a lot of a story where, let's be honest, not much actually happens

I really didn't think they would show him actually doing it. I was not prepared for that. I didn't even know the whole story, so even that part was a surprise. I figured he would either die or be rescued.

Good film but I found the over the top product placement (I think it was Gatoraid or something) in the middle of the movie kind of weirdly jarring
- I dunno it it was there just for money purposes. It made plot senseProjectile

Saw it in-flight.
It's a great movie if you are confined to a seat for 14 (then 8 more) hours. And/or your other choice is Tangled.
- best film review ever.
I've heard good things about tangled thoughflashbender

Don't be fooled the movie is actually only 90 minutes long. They must have cut the other 125 1/2 hours out. That, or the DVD skipped.

that post makes no sense...and i don't really care anyway.the movie was awful and dragged out for far too long. No need for hollywood style movie. would have been much better suited and well thought through story on NPR.
And this is by no means belittling the guy. That shit was far greater than anything I would ever wish to go through, but hollywood made it hollywood.
- ^PIITB sums it up...weirdly and non-conformist-like... something.lvl_13

about a year ago a director i know was in development for his film (that i was suppose to shoot), JF was attached to play in the film. Then this kind of b-films became co-producer and started insisting that JF is not sellable overseas as he's not recognizable enough. They started restructuring the casting... In mean time the money that was promised if JF would start disappeared... slowly the projects started disintegrating... and now a year later the director doesn't have a movie... And if he didn't listen to the b-films producer he would not only have a film, his film would have an Oscar nominated actor....

- moral of the story: don't listen to quacks who are kings of b-films as they only know (kinda) how money operates but have no clue about art.pr2

Didn't come to any theatres within 200 miles of where I live. Will have to wait for DVD. Can't wait, though.

I dont think I can watch a guy cut his own arm off in a movie, knowing that it really happened. F that!

It's a good film. Though I'm not sure it's worth all the attention and praise.

I don't want to see a movie where I already know the ending.

did you all just get around to seeing it just now?

Great movie. Like mando I thought it would be really slow seeing as it's about a guy trapped in a slot canyon. But it really had a great pace with the intercuts of memories and hallucinations. The Part.. and I give The Part a title treatment on purpose.. gave me shit loads of anxiety. Had to catch a quick breather afterwards.

trailer looks pretty great

I actually personally know the guy who it was based on so felt compelled to see it. Also read the book. I expected the film to be slow but was pleasantly surprised. An excellent film based on an amazing story. My girlfriend really enjoyed it too. James Franco was brilliant.

I saw up to the point just after he falls.
I went with this chick and she suddenly decided she wanted to get sick and throw up everywhere - ended up leaving...- That sounds better than the movie!stoplying
- We had just been to dinner at this Italian spot - she had lots of ammo.duckseason

Yep. The cinematography was excellent. The DP get's my vote for sure. Didn't expect it to be as good as it was. One fella had a mild seizure in my showing, had to stop it and get him out. And the main actor killed it, seriously.
