Nicest QBN logo crit ever!

Out of those #4. Something about the angle of the text on #2 makes me mental.

Good job with the type on 1, but not suitable for the target market. 2 shares all the same elements as the free trade logo, but without the cleverness - they will share shelf space. I think 4 is heading in the right direction, but needs some love. The height of the type is too high, creating some unwanted negative space around the two P's & Y. And at the moment it says happy, but not food - as the two O's smile has been done before why not push the idea further & bring the element of food into the smile as well. The counter on one 'O' could be perfect as a spoon, if you ad a stem.

4 but maybe stack it and lock it up.....

4 works for me. while the "mouth/smile" seems a bit alien still - I'd probably work on that and see if it can go more along the lines of the other letters.

If I were you, I would rather have a final piece that hits the mark with consumers, than 1 of 4 designs I pulled from my canvas of options.
That said, #4 is still the best of the 4, IMO.

All good feedback - thanks to everyone so far!
@dMullins,
There's much more on my canvas - i'm just trying to pair it to down as to make my life a little easier. That being said client is only paying to develop a couple of concepts initially. I'd prefer not to inundate them with too many options as previous experience with that approach has been painful: (ie: "take qualities of logos A+B+C and put them into Logo F").I am working on hashing out more ideas but just wanted to get some feedback for my top contenders at this point.
Again, thanks for all the feedback!

I think of these, #4 is the best, but I don't think #4 is the final selection.
If I were the client, I would ask to see a lot of options for this brand's logo exploration, instead of 1 or 2 of your "best recommendations."
I don't personally believe that any of the 4 are working toward a final executable, and would work on more varieties.

If you were going to go with two you'd need to do a bit more work on the visual themes that go around it because as a stand alone logo it's the most forgettable of the four.

Maybe mix elements of 1,4

I'm going to go against popular opinion and say I like the idea of 1. I like the big, fat type. What I'm not sold on is the solid circle behind it.
1's typography is big and friendly. Kind of like the type on the cover of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's a good starting point.
That said, should you use the smiley face motif in that one? I suspect you could get away with it, provided the smile is equally friendly. Otherwise, I would start thinking about other motifs and metaphors.

Logo two reminds me of this... .http://image3.examiner.com/imag...

I like number 4 also but it has been done before... see below...
- Nice. I suspect the 'smiley mouth under two Os' thing had been done quite a few times before this example, though.detritus
- I imagine so... nice though, eh?!twelveandahalf
- Everything's been done at least once. The challenge is making what comes afterwards even better. :)Continuity

Well I like 2 the best, but the market might need something more to the point in design so 1 or 4 seem to work well.
