Happy Childhood Things

I spent about 4 months out of the year at my grandparents home in the high Sierras of México. My mom made sure to take me out of school early with a huge packet of homework lol. She wanted to spend every single second available with her parents. Looking back at that, I could not have asked for a happier childhood. The amount of freedom to explore and play only enhanced my creativity and connection to nature. Made me "rough around the edges" hence prepared me for life. As a young adult I hated going there because there was nothing to do, bored out of my mind. But as I got older I realized how fkn lucky I am. The home is still in my family, now a "vacation" home for us and my cousins etc. I still go there every so many years when I have a chance. It truly is home if there ever was one. :) <3

HR Puffinstuff, made by Brit hippies for US audience!
Fat Albert, the show was so stereotype, Bill Cosby bought the episodes to bury it
Land of the Lost, also by the Puffinstuff guys...

- I spent hours on trees. Just hiding in the leaves and watching the clouds pass by. Those were good times.Longcopylover

- The episodes were so surreal, amazing animation and introduced kids to so many awesome bands. I've never understood why it went mostly forgotten.GM278

We had an old busted-out 1950's pickup in the woods on our property growing up (it was there when my parents bought the farm in '78), and I use to spend lots of time out there playing in it. It was just the frame and cab, no engine or windows, but the cab was pretty much in-tact, along with the dash, steering wheel, pedals, shifter, seats, etc. I can still remember the smell of it.
Kind of like this, minus the windows and the bed. =)
