We're working on rebranding a hotel and part of one concept is using hotel/travel items as inspiration for collateral elements. Things like creating a plastic business card which slips into a paper pocket to mimic the room card at a hotel.
Can you think of any other items or elements which are synonymous to hotels/traveling? Passport, travel folder, etc...
Thanks.

Not the best place to do your ideation research
- I'm not asking anyone to solve the problem, just asking what people associate with hotels/travel. Should I not?marcostill

here's some help (or maybe not):
figure out the voice of the hotel (base this on its history, location, demure, speciality, etc.) Take said voice and find referential material. (this is probably best researched in terms of finding like symbolism/metaphors in other areas NOT relating to hotel design. - it is of some note that reference SHOULD have something to do with voice and vice-versa). Figure out what are archetypes for said metaphor/symbol and see if they can be applied to your hotel (is it contextually appropriate? too esoteric? does the overall feeling come back to one of comfort and maintain a strong, clear voice? (yes, there's that "voice" again)...
Post your findings...

Bad alarm clocks. Weird phone pad interfaces. Unique remote controls. Tiny soap, shampoo. Fresh towels. Bizarre carpet patterns. Thick curtains.

Battery operated black lights + comforter inspection = fun for the whole family. So basically fun/gross is what I think of.

Miniature soaps and shower gels.
Really nice thick towel/dressing gowns that are made to be so big and luxurious that it's hard to steal them, and you have to carry some of your clothes in a plastic bag and put the gown in your suitcase to avoid being caught..

Hahahah, wrong place for a stupid question.
" Hi there, i'm doing some designs. Does anyone have any ideas for some designs?"
- Inspiration is far from ideas. Apparently it's the right place for stupid answers though.marcostill
