Not that I am vein enough to be concerned about my ability to acquire sushi, but I was wondering this morning about what the tsunami and other damage has done to that industry in Japan. Tokyo and the ports there were probably not as badly damaged as things up north, but boats could have been damaged out at sea or close to shore. Shipping travel has to be affected out of Japan.
Doesn't most fish meant for sushi come out of Japan? I feel like I've heard at one point that most sushi comes from one supplier, and there's some kind of organization that approves fish for resale as sushi. Anyone else know anything about this?
- I've heard that the best sushi in Japan comes from Vancouver. Probably not true.nb
- I hate to say it have been thinking about the Canon Lens i was thinking about buying next monthautoflavour
- I am sure it doesn't all come from there but is prob auctioned at tsukiji. Most tuna is caught in AtlanticDrBombay

So my sister and her friends mostly from a local cross fit gym have been helping with a collapsed building just four blocks from her house. The gym owner lived there and he swears there are people trapped, but they haven't heard anything yet so they are afraid they might be dead.
Her posts on FB consist of asking people to come with shovels and any power tools that may be able to cut through metal rods. Also lots of flashlights are needed since power is out. It's stated raining on and off and so there is no moon so very dark.
All motorcyclists throughout the city have united to help out in that they can give rides to first responders, medics or any type of paramedics to get to the affected areas, because cars cannot get through due to blockages or just dead traffic. The military just arrived at the location she is at so she is going home. There are no classes for her tomorrow so she will probably be doing the same thing all day tomorrow.
- Bless her heart, good to hear she is alright to help ppl out there, toll is 226 as of now and rising :( damn.helloeatbreathedrive
- This should be expected after 8.2 of last week right? They say aftershocks happen at a magnitude of -1 of the main one. And this is exactly it.Beeswax

Amidst all the tragedy and devastation in Japan, I have to say I really admire the way the Japanese are handling this. No histrionincs and sensationalism - just getting on with the job, helping those in need and respecting the dead. Plenty could learn from all of this.
