Thats is one of the main reason i dont like designers that much. if they did not design it. there is tons of flaws in it

being a designer is to always look for the better.
e.g. we're living in an age of user-generatd content and apple launch a product that is purely for the consumption of content. that's a step backwards.

Designers and computer-enthusiasts worldwide angrily waives their fists in unison.
A new gimmick/gadget were promised.Not verbally, but by a secret, unspoken commitment-bond of Apple consumers: we shall buy ye shiny loot IF it is presented at the Keynote dungeon every year. And it has to be gadgetty.
iPad can perhaps (as the name suggest) become a symbol of something more softer, more female in the Apple family. That angries up father Mac.
But dad knows best, have compassion (dude's basically a metrosexual anyway) and still loves you.
And with time, come to an understanding that females are humans too, and entitled to some non-techy stuff once in a while.

The thing that bothers me most about the iPad is this: if I had an iPad rather than a real computer as a kid, I’d never be a programmer today. I’d never have had the ability to run whatever stupid, potentially harmful, hugely educational programs I could download or write. I wouldn’t have been able to fire up ResEdit and edit out the Mac startup sound so I could tinker on the computer at all hours without waking my parents. The iPad may be a boon to traditional eduction, insofar as it allows for multimedia textbooks and such, but in its current form, it’s a detriment to the sort of hacker culture that has propelled the digital economy.

Georges: That works both ways...If Einstein had a computer he probably would not have invented the theory of evolution. Then again, if computers had not been invented we would not have reached the moon.
You need abstraction. The kids of tomorrow will not care about programming how we know it, and by doing that they will create new incredible stuff.
