Meh...average. I've been in offices far more impressive than that. Not necessarily grandiose...just better.

For me, they decide to spend money on stuff that does not add real value to the aesthetic to the over all design or provide function.
Spending money for sake of spending.

all the propped fixies and skateboarding in the office = super lame

datz SOD!

it's a company's office. that's it. at least it looks nice. to me anyway. i don't quite understand this knee-jerk reaction to facebook like they're the nazi party marching towards poland. if people don't want to use facebook they don't. if you don't like targeted advertising then don't use it. and if you don't like them surely you can have some kind of subjective view of the office space. probably not though.
btw: targeted advertising is advertising. it's always targeted. at least is 'hopefully' targeted or 'you're doing it wrong'.
and value? the value is in keeping staff happiness™ levels (much like sims) and making advertisers who go there feel like fb has the pulse of what's happening and they are good at what they do (the inference being that having cash to spend on office space means cash to spare means plenty of cash means good - in broad sweeping generalisation land).

Clash hereThe building is from the 60s 70s. They tried to modernize the place but made it more industrial minimalistic. The theme does not carry as different materials and shapes conform with the over all interior design along with forced furniture.
Most of these furnitures are not practical as they would rarely get used in common areas. It does provide airy feel to it but with out function or relevance to the holistic design, it achieves nothing.

LOL at the turntables. can you imagine trying to work while all your douchey co-workers practice their scratch techniques and beat-matching?... also loving the 'fully skateable' common areas... great idea until someone gets a board to the ankle.
- must_dash0
They should be commended on spending money on classic pieces of furniture, rather than primary colours bean bags.

i'd alos like to add that the use of space is not only aesthetically pleasing but functional. not just for skateboarding, but chances are, as they expand they'll need space for desks.
what often happens is you'll get a bunch of highly paid interior designers to kit the place out. then when the compnay expands in numbers, the office manager will shove desks wherever they can fit them. within months the place looks like shite.
