    it's a company's office. that's it. at least it looks nice. to me anyway. i don't quite understand this knee-jerk reaction to facebook like they're the nazi party marching towards poland. if people don't want to use facebook they don't. if you don't like targeted advertising then don't use it. and if you don't like them surely you can have some kind of subjective view of the office space. probably not though.

    btw: targeted advertising is advertising. it's always targeted. at least is 'hopefully' targeted or 'you're doing it wrong'.

    and value? the value is in keeping staff happiness™ levels (much like sims) and making advertisers who go there feel like fb has the pulse of what's happening and they are good at what they do (the inference being that having cash to spend on office space means cash to spare means plenty of cash means good - in broad sweeping generalisation land).
