I use cash, and let me tell you, all you folks using your debit cards to buy a coffee are holding up the line!
Also handy for lending people money.

Seriously, Dr. Bombay that is what is scary as hell. Your entire financial liability if something were to go awry. Identity theft etc.
Thinking of all the things I use my computer/credit/debit card to pay is almost baffling. I usually see cash when I go to the ATM or doing laundry. But even the laundries have those cards now, where you exchange cash for the same value on the card....

I saw a guy get denied with his card for a pack of gum a few months back. What a fucking dick. You shouldn't have to sign your name for small shit like that.
- I costs more to process cheap items, one conv. store down the street refuses charges under 5 dollars.Starwell99

Some jerk at a tuckshop near my place insists on cash when I buy bus tokens, because otherwise the money doesn't go to them, or something.

I got robbed at gunpoint a while back. I will tell you I am sure fucking glad I had a hundred bucks on me, rather than having to tell the guy I had no cash.

In the EU, the majority still uses cash. Although almost everyone has a credit/debet card people still pay cash their groceries in cash at the supermarkets.
I personally like the look and feel of notes and coins, they quickly show you how long you can keep drinking in that bar.

I withdraw 20€ every time and try to make it last at least 2 days. Just for those little expenses like coffee, grab a bite, tobacco, this or that. Unfortunately I'm into these small cigars that cost me 5€/day.
So yeah I use cash on daily basis, but never carry much with me.
For all the rest, I use plastic. Stopped using checks almost entirely.
- this may sound odd to you peeps, but around here an espresso costs 50 centsCorvo2

I'm a cash kinda guy.
It is amazing how it's easier to get a credit card than a checking/debit one. Actually, I never saw a bank offer a debit card here in Ireland.
They just want you to borrow.
