Americans have some great designers, but it seems Japan and Europe have the most new ideas.
By and large American music is boring. Too many people trying to do exactly the same thing - sell music and make money. Try to create new listening experiences or create for a passion, not the dollar.
Americans have added 98.3% of the fatty foods that are slowly taking over the West. Most of these foods taste so similar it doesn't matter what shade of beige is going in your mouth. It's going straight to your arteries, butt and gut.
Americans need to reinvent themselves. I think it is time for Change. Your children need you to start thinking and stop eating. To start creating and innovating and stop copying yourselves into a caricature of how great you once were.

As far as music, yes top 40 bullshit on tv and what not is crap. There is tons of great American music, you just have to look a little past mtv and the shitty radio.
Just for the record, house and techno are massively large in Europe and were invented in the US. Also, all the great british rock bands (that I love!) took cues from American blues. so, yeah. Who cares right?

i am american and thankful to live here but there is a lot i don't like about it. a lot of the negatives have already been mentioned in previous posts in this thread already. to be honest most of the people in america that i can come close to agreeing with politically/morally/etc are on the coasts (san fran, NYC, etc). the people that really make me ashamed to be called an american are in the flyover states (middle america) there is so much backward thinking going on with these middle america conservatives. IMHO.

Yes...The U.S has bad stuff...so does every other place on the planet.
We also have TONS of amazing things...like one of the most diverse landscapes and the most diverse population of people.
I think it funny that in an effort to point out how cultured they are and how backwards we are..Europeans frequently fall for the ultimate small minded trick....stereotyping an entire country.
