I'm of the opinion that Jack = Jacob/Christian as well. I can't explain it so that it makes sense to anyone else, but I liken it to what they did with Locke's body, and what Jack did with his father's body.
As far as BSG....yah. I really wasn't expecting to be so into it, but it took me and my GF over completely after we watched the whole first season. We then proceeded to tear through the rest of season 2, 3, and 4, and then watched all of the RAZOR stuff.
Speaking of which...can I watch the final season online anywhere, or do I have to wait til the DVDs drop?

is this like The Most Dangerous Game but without the game part?

If Jack = Jacob, it makes sense that he would use his dad as kind of a mental projection to communicate with people, no?

I will repost here then since we're on the topic:
Ok, I 'm totally going with the theory that Jacob is a very old/dead/or trapped in time Jack. Here's why:
-The recurring them of closeups on an eye. (I could be wrong, but) It only happens with two people - Jack and Jacob.
-In the eye close-ups, both Jacob's and Jack's eyes are brown. (Ben and Locke's eyes are not, btw)
-Right now, it seems Jack is the one taking the initiative with getting the bomb to save everyone. It puts him once again in a big leadership postion.
-The show started with Jack, and has (for the most part) felt largely like Jack's story. It would be fitting to end the story with him as the central figure.
-Episodically, Jacob was first mentioned by name in "I Do". According to 'other' Danny Pickett, Jack "wasn't even on Jacob's list".
-The two other entities we've seen in Jacob's domain or prescence are Christian (Jack's father) and Claire (Jack's half sister, and daughter to Christian). If one were a time-trapped lonely entity who could call on minions for help, wouldn't one call on their family?
-And darn it, would it be perfect for Jack's self-sacrificing character if he had to take the BIG BULLET for the whole island population and live out a very long lonely existence to make sure pieces fall in place for a final salvation of everyone else?
-"Jack Shepard." Wouldn't this truly make him a shepard to all?
-Jack's tattoo translates to "He who walks among us, but is not one of us."
- ooo you added onelocustsloth
- haha, yeah i noticed that somplace else.harlequino
- I feel like I don't even need to watch anymoreukit

hopefully jack will finally die... his character is so fucking annoying... AND HURLEY...
... they should both be eaten as a sacrifice BBQ to Jacob... resulting in a mass orgy that focuses particularly on Kate, Mrs. Lafluer and we can toss Sun in there cuz everyone knows a good porn needs at least one hot korean lady in it...
... but because that will never happen - this show will continue to suck... but I'll still watch - just like I still watch that pile of shit Prisonbreak... which actually was 'okay' this past week... and should be even better this week as it's the last - episode - ever. :D
- lol.. prison break?
is that still on?JOSF - Hurley's great! He's rewriting Empire Strikes Back!
I fully support the orgy, though.harlequino - haha, Pony. Your post really made me laugh.noRBG
- lol.. prison break?
- ukit0
Maybe the guys from Prison Break will show up on the island and help them escape...oh wait, that's on Fox, nevermind.
- PB is on Fox...Jack is played by Matthew Fox...eh? EEHH?
Seeing the connections now??harlequino

They may have a spin-off of "Prison Break" later. The show was so shitty after season 1, and is now getting good right before the last episode.
- I was thinking that there might be a good show in Michael actually working for the company...PonyBoy
- ... then it hit me that this shows sucks so hard...PonyBoy
- I still want Lincoln to get with that one female who can fight on the show (forget her name...was the bitch one)juhls
- besides Mrs. Scofield.juhls
- I'm not sure she's coming back. She left during that break in the season.juhls
- ohhh.. the general's former lover!... yeah... her and lincoln - sexy!PonyBoy
- She wanted to sleep with him for a moment, but he said "no". WTF is wrong with him.juhls

they should cut off kate's head and put it in a box...
then pretend it wasn't actually her.
- PonyBoy0
Jack's mother will appear out of nowhere and set him up for the murder of India's ambassador to the Others and attempt to rekindle a war between China and the Darma Initiative
- ukit0
So...now that we've established with 99.999999% certainly that Jack = Jacob, what does it all mean?
a) Jack is Jesus, God and Buddha
b) Jack got blown to smithereens by the nuclear bomb
c) Jack is still passed out at the airport bar, and whole "island" thing is just a really long dream
- noRBG0
Jack is the smoke monster! The smoke monster is Jacob! Jacob is Jack! Repeat into infinity, and be satisfied that at the conclusion of LOST we will still probably be stuck asking SOME questions.
- The smoke monster is Kate's hoo-ha.harlequino
- and here i was thinking it was sawyer's hee-heePonyBoy
- lol, harlejuhls

I still maintain that the show producers had no idea where the thing was headed for the first couple seasons.
Case in point - a few of the main characters (like Hurley's GF and the female cop) were killed off because they got arrested for drunk driving and kicked out of Hawaii.
- That's a horrible example. Those characters are secondary and were only signed on for a short while anyway.juhls
- Ben, on the other hand, was signed for a few episodes and then was so interesting that they kept in on as a regular.juhls
- They will always have secondary characters to kill off.juhls
- < Well the Ben thing proves they didn't know how it would endukit
- No, it just means they may have had that character for a different purpose. As long as they knew how they wanted Jack and/or Kate to end up,juhls
- one or two of the real main characters (ie. Jack and Kate) to end up, it doesn't matter too much to interchange whatjuhls
- other characters can do. Changing a character's purpose doesn't necessarily change the ending of the story.juhls
- You could be right. I mean, who knows if they knew exactly what they were doing. We'll see...juhls
- Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the show...ukit

If Sawyer goes for Kate instead of Juliet, I hope he drowns.

Also notice how there was so much focus on Michael and Walt in the beginning, it looked like Walt was the key to the whole island mystery. But then they completely dropped that whole storyline, I think because the guy playing Michael signed up with a new series.
