BMW M3 (granted, that one is customized a tad). I love mine, although it is not the new one.
A/S5's look great from some angles, awkward from others.
M3 vs. S5

- that's tuned by AC. that's an whole other LEVEL.akrokdesign
- if the BMW owner can't drift, or take the corner like a rally pro. the audi wins. Re. the 335i vs S5akrokdesign
- That is an upgrade, for sure, but basically just rims and some small spoilers, not much different than stockformed
- way hotter though. :-)akrokdesign
- I hate the Audi's xmas tree lights headlights, to gimmickyfooler2

i do dig the bmw 3 series coupe. frankly the A6 just doesn't look as good visually as the A5.
Also, I should mention that it needs to be 4 wheel drive so if bmw must be xi
and yes, i'm getting this just in time for my quarter century life crisis next month :)
i do agree that the new A5's look better in person, pics really don't do it justice.

I love audis, but I have to say
bmw and benz, are not in the same category than audis.

my flatmate has a bmw and he has trouble with it all the time .. and bmw's service is shitty when he tells me the stories .. my dad used to have an a4 and loved it .. no trouble whatsoever .
and i like the looks of the a5 much better than any bmw or benz .. benz is for taxi's and ambulances.

My car hasn't had any issues, but my buddies 323 has. Can't say beyond read the reliability reviews (that killed me every buying an Audi or Mercedes, unless buying new).
Service wise, they are fantastic. Free cars to borrow (usually new 3 series) or free cab rides. They'll do almost any quick labor for free (they put on a special bracket for my front plate so I didn't have to drill into the front bumper - stupid front plate laws!), replace a light, etc.
I'd give their service an A.
If you need all wheel drive, I'd go with the Audi then. Just keep in mind with performance tires, it'll suck a** in the snow anyway (my M3 has traction control, but with massive performance tires that snow just sticks to you are eventually driving on slicks).
Anyone have experience with performance tires, all-wheel-drive and snow?

if you're leasing go with bmw. my friend is leasing a 2007 328 cab...so nice
they include brakes in the service plan...you can beat the hell out of those cars

Nice car, but what a waste of money.

Leasing is a waste of money. Nothing worse as an investment than a car (well, maybe a boat). Leasing is literally throwing money away to drive something cool.
Find something used, get minimal payments/buy outright. Save the cash and still have something very nice.

just saw an A5. i have to say its lines are way better then any bmw or mercedes out there, and 'm a huge mercedes fan.

I test drove one for a few days and loved it.
I didnt buy it as it was at the hieght of the uk petrol madness and couldnt justify the running cost.
P.S. As much as I hate BMWs and the folk that drive them. the M3 was a million times better.
...I'd still go for the audi though.

Going to the Audi dealer this Saturday. Happy early 25th b-day to myself :) Quarter century crisis is looming, thus I must do something brash and stupid.
Yes, I agree leasing is a waste of money..... However, I've already determined any kind of car is an outright waste of money and a poor investment. I own my 1999 Subaru outright and it guzzles just as much gas as anything + parts and labor practically is a monthly payment these days. Also, Audi does a 0 down lease, so at least it's just a monthly payment.
Bottom line. Stupid investment. However, as long as one is putting away tons of money away for retirement, keeping a solid emergency fund and investing in smart things like cheap stocks and housing. Then... I say fuck it... why not?
- Also, I might add, I'm not married and have no kids ( that I know of ). If I had a family... then this might not happen.wordsinyourmouth3
- A car is not an investment at all. It's an expense.
But, I used to have an A4, and loved it. Service is spendy though.dirtydesign

"Should I buy a Audi A5 or a Merc"?
Wouldn't you have to be some type of big noting tosser to post something like this on QBN? Who gives a rats ass what you buy?
- pistollero0
I care ;)
Get a S5 instead, you will enjoy that V8!

I love my Audi - this is my 4th one
- MondoMorphic0
I just test drove an A4 and was not impressed. It looks pretty and is a smooth ride, but I expected a lot more responsiveness. I'm going with the a 3 series BMW instead.

A friend of mine told me, that this is the current "douchebag thread"... let me have a look...
