That sucks.
I did have pain in that area last year and on a thigh both in the 1st or 2nd challenge... forgot which one...
Tried running I remember but the pain got worse and ended up taking a break for like 2 weeks. It even hurt while sitting down.
Do agree with mattia on those warm ups. Ever since I've been doing a lot of stretching (from around c4) I've been having less problems and better performance. I bought a bunch of magazines and checked the "runners's world" magazine to gather as many warm up options as possible.

put in 5 miles tonight. un-fucking-fortunately my nike+ wristband said low battery 5 seconds after i left my house and then proceeded to die before the blinking "walk" message even finished!!!! so no run to log!

Great and bad news!!
The good one is that since many people complained about the time limit on the machines the dumbasses at the gym are now allowing us to remain using them if nobody is waiting! ;o)
The bad one is that I went out for a run... and felt good... but I forgot to end my run on my ipod when i wad done running. Was already cooling down and drinking water when I realized I had forgotten to end it. :o( I wanna slap myself every time this happens.
I think apple should have a recorded voice that reminds you if your pace had decreased dramatically after a minute or something, just in case.

I ran my first race of the year. The Sanford Easter 5k. I didn't expect to do anything great considering that I just came back to running, but I'm fine with the result. 32:18

both flutter and mattia have run this year...
we got a 10k this month just a few blocks from my place. too tempted to join just to give a try. never ran before.

Hey Vector, if you want to improve your running both in speed and resistance, running a race is the best thing. Mostly because you would set a goal for yourself and training for it. It would also make running less boring! ;-)
Let me know if you decide to do it, I have a lot of resources, and a lot of training programs. And if anybody else is interested, just ask.

wow thanks leo. I would definetely like to see what kinds of training programs you have. Even if I wasn't able to join this 10k, I would def look into joining another later this year. There's plenty of them during summer.
Gotta check first if they are still accepting runners. I think so since the average on this 10k is of around 50,000 people, but you never know.

i ran 8 miles yesterday, but again without my nike+. i'm not even sure where my sensor is. felt good until the end when my knee started hurting again.
sorry people on my team. i have officially logged 0 miles on nike+, but have logged a bunch without it. as i said before: ah well, it still gets me running more.

2. How many days a week can you run?
3. How many miles can you run a week?
4. What's your most recent 10K time?
5. In a training program you always have a day where you do your long runs, usually Saturday or Sunday. What's your preference?Let me know and I send you some custom programs!

Hope this info helps.1.- About 5'25''/km outdoors (reads as 6'30''/km on the treadmill.)
2.- 4–5 (6 on a good week depending on my job and motivation)
3.- between 70 and 80 miles (120–130 km)
4.- 10.03km at 6'06''/km for a total of 1:01'20'' (only done like 6-7 10km runs so far since I started running about 9 months ago)
5.- Nope. I don't really have a training program or a plan, so I pretty much just do what I can everyday. I try to reach in every run 5km (that's my goal to feel I exercised enough since weight loss is a priority for me), anything more after that is extra mileage. Don't really have the patience to do short runs some days and do crazy long runs on the weekends. I like to stick more or less to an even distance every time. If I def had to choose a day for longer runs I'd go with sunday and not saturday.- I'll work on it and let you know. I was reading one of your previous post and I was wondering, when is this 10K race you are talking about?mattiaBK
