first you don't know half the story.... who the fuck trains their kids in hate, how to burn flags, kill people, etc. you should see the picts.

but bottom line is killing people isn't solving anything for anyone on both sides....

    and give back the land?

its not about the land you're missing the point, they want to wipe out ALL jews and the state of israel. they're (hamas) terrorists and have publicly stated these facts.

who the fuck kidnaps innocent people?

who the fuck blows themselves up in the name of god?

    the land is nothing.

They had the land before the state of israel.... tell me what did they do with it?

Where were the cities? the infrastructure?

you'd think if they wanted something so badly they'd actually do something with it when they had it.

but going along with your line of thinking...

why doesn't the US give the land back to the american indians? i mean they slaughtered them and stole their land.... didn't they?

    • I don't think anyone here is defending Hamas, but what Israel is doing is making themselves look far worse._niko
    • of course you are..... show me where you've mentioned them negatively?dconstrukt
    • look worse? its war crimes! REAL war crimes! this isn't anti-isreal its amatter of fact kook at the mess they madeKwesiJ

Israel and Hamas need to both sign up to the International Criminal court.

There are already calls for Israel to sign up so they can be tried for War Crimes. (proportionality, collective punishment, use of certain weapons). And Hamas need to be brought to book on rockets aimed at occupied areas.

The recent UN human rights resolution needs to have some form of enforcement.

as it concluded its ninth special session which discussed “the grave violations of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory including the recent aggression in the occupied Gaza Strip”.

The resolution called for an “immediate cessation of Israeli military attacks throughout the Palestinian Occupied Territory, in particularly in the Occupied Gaza Strip that have resulted, thus far, in the killing of more than 900 and the injury to more than 4000 Palestinians, including a large number of women and children.

It also called for an “end to the launching of the crude rockets against Israeli civilians that resulted in the loss of 4 civilian lives and some injuries.”

I kno the story well enough. This a dispute that has driven to the extreme like events at sabra & chatilla. Israel cteated half of this mess by being arrogant, violant, ignorant & disrespectfull. Hamas is to blame for being vengefull & persistant. De un is to blame for being deaf, dumd & blind.

More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 5,000 wounded in the Gaza operation, Palestinian officials said Wednesday.

Israel said Wednesday 10 of its soldiers and three civilians have been killed and more than 100 soldiers have been wounded.

You know, this is always a difficult topic for me. I try to understand on empathetic and real politik levels the issues and emotions of both sides. It's not hard to find ample justifications on both sides for their actions based on history, recent and older.

And while I have some serious issues with the Palestinian cause and how it's portrayed and used by the Arab world in general and with the Palestianians themselves to prop up questionable authorities, Israel is the one with the organized state and army and no compunctions to use it.

Speaking selfishly, as an American citizen, I am sick and tired of tying so much of American foreign policy to Israel. Perhaps at some point during the Cold War, Israel represented something of a vital national interest to us, however those days are past. I am not a fan of my nation using the Israeli military as a testing ground for our weapon systems, especially when it creates such furor among that part of the world were we derive our national energy sources from. US energy - vital US interest. Friendship with Israel, nice, but not a vital interest in my view. The candle of Israeli friendship is not worth the game anymore.

Of course, this type of opinion can not be expressed "publically" in the US. The media is biased against it. Especially living in NYC, this is something you dare not express in conversation. But you can say "Wow, those crazy arabs..." and no one will bat an eyelash.

No matter what side of the debate you are on, at least in the US, it's well past the time where we must stop fearing a true and open debate about this in the public square, but still that's not "allowed"....
