Only if done properly. It's so easy for venison to become gamey.
The best venison I ever had was at this Irish place back home in Baltimore called An Poitin Stil. They pan-sear medallions of venison tenderloin in a raspberry/blackberry brandy sauce with pine nuts and dried apricots, then place the medallions around a generous portion of their garlic mashers. The venison is spicy-sweet and tender. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

My cousins are Deer farmers in NZ, they export the good stuff - much nicer than wild Deer which can have quite a gamey flavour...
